It's funny with live sporting events I will find myself trying to FFWD through the commercials out of habit

Yeah they last too long because of all the media timeouts. But since the networks overpaid for the rights, we know they won’t be cut out.
Do you think college football games are too long?

Yes, they are too long but there are better ways to shorten them. First, max 1 minute of official review. If it’s not obvious in 1 minute the play stands as called. 2, max 1 minute commercial breaks. 3, no back to back time-outs. 4, “injured” in the last 5 minutes of the half or the game and you are out of the game for the remainder of the half or game.

I have actually waited to start many games about 45-60 minutes into it to fast forward commercials and halftime.

I do the same thing with 1 hour long shows..start them about 15-20 minutes into the show.

Did I mention that I love the DVR system!! Winking

get ready to see ~20% less plays per game this year

thanks, as always, dipshit NCAA
I would have thought you’d be ecstatic with the rule change, since you hate all big 10 slow plodding offenses it might help them go from offensive schemes from the 1960’s to the 21st century

It will further re-enforce their point. Iowa/MN will be even slower as this helps those teams over others. IMO

I’m always pausing games, not necessarily because I care that much if I miss a couple plays of Vanderbilt vs Hawaii, but now I can FF through the commercials.

I'm not against change but I am always suspicious which ultimately makes me opposed to change unless clearly warranted. I don't like when rules changes change integrity of the game....which they have for the last couple decades because media wants.....=$$$

Great call on number 4. That’s something I hadn’t thought about.

I’ve never met a person that thought the game was too long. Except for one game … the freaking B1G championship vs Wisconsin. THAT game was too long.

I thought the estimated 8 plays. Will be curious how many the average comes down after the first week vs last year.
Was that the game when Melvin Gordon rushed for 408 in three quarters? If not, we can probably say that game was a bit too long, too. Actually 30 minutes of that game was plenty.

Yes it was … I remember looking up at the scoreboard late in the 3rd and WI was averaging like 13 yds/rush that game. Oh my - I was soooo excited road tripping to that game and fully expected the Huskers to be crowned B1G champs! Then the sweeps started happening … two great highlights though. Kenny Bell’s blindside block … T-Mart’s monster run where he covered 3 miles of turf :)

On the other hand 77-28 NU over ASU in 1995 was much too short — and their coach accused TO of running up the score! (It still amazes me that we were shut out by them the next year with Stanford’s Scott Frost as our QB. What a bum he was😀)

my way to fight against commercials and game length is to watch all the games on dvr. that way i can skip all the ********. I'd even do ppv if it meant fewer commercials.

"leadership" in America is at an all time low. these folks are really bad at their jobs.

Younger generation has a lot to overcome thanks to the Boomer generation.

No offense to all boomers of course! Love some of y'all for sure! But overall leadership today that stems from that era/generation? Fvcked the rest of us. But victim status is for the lame. So thank today's leadership for the challenge I suppose!
