Saturday performance and frost comments on Monday sealed the deal for me. I’ve been a fan for 50 plus years but I give up. I hear people say if alberts blows it up we start again from scratch. We are below scratch now, what difference does it make. These guys are poorly coached and continue the same bonehead mistakes, sorry but that’s coaching

it's a train wreck cause frost sticks to his passing system by habit, but has a qb that can't hit the broadside of the barn with a football. I'm in the same boat as you, I wanted frost to do well but it has become a lesson in futility.
(even though I wanted tcu's coach instead of frost and colorado state's coach instead of riley. so I feel somewhat immune to all this fail and justified in being correct)
my only thought is that we make a lot of money in academics in the big 10 so football has been disregarded and cast into the rubbish bin? there really can't be any other sane explanation why frost is still employed...

I will never give up on my Huskers. I am not a fair Weathered fan. Will support them until the day I die. But I have now shifted on Scott Frost. I was giving him another chance this season to have all of his guys in place and fix all of the small mistakes that any good coaching staff can fix and it looks like that won’t be the case based on what we saw on Saturday. This still looks like a poorly coached team. I don’t understand how these little things don’t get corrected?
I’m hopeful still but not overly optimistic the he can right the ship. Trev has some tough decisions to make.

Yeah I don’t understand the people who complain about starting from scratch in this instance. Is there anything worse than watching this team? Really? A new coach would still be able to win 3-5 games but it’d at least have the hope of getting better attached to it.

There are some fans that still think Frost can turn it around and most people who say not to fire him are just fans of other teams or don't understand the meaning of a results-oriented profession.

We all know Forst will have another losing season and he has already admitted publically he is lazy in his preparation and has no clue what he is doing

Frost will be gone. I think it's a waste of time keeping him around and just promote an interim coach, but I'm willing to wait for the losses to pile up through the rest of the season and then get the new coach in right after the season is done.

Watched a interview with Nick Saban the other day and he realized that he needed to change a few years back with the evolution of the spread. He stated he knew he couldn't stop it so when he hired Lane Kiffen he told him, "Lane, we need to outscore everyone."

Even the holy one knew he needed to change.

Unfortunately, everyone and their brother, especially opposing teams, know what Frost is going to run.

The thread I'm hanging onto is gone, so I'm at peace with moving on and finding someone that can really coach, make adjustments and be competitive in all three phases of the game.

My support for this program is gone. At least until they make monumental shifts with coaching. Outside of defense have there moments. All 3 phases are below average. Offense is a cluster of incompetence. And special team well LOL. They don't do anything well.

I think our troubles are 2 people.

Greg Austin
Mario Verduzco

(Held is almost on this list)

Neither of these coaches has been able to really improve ANYONE they have coached. In fact, Adrian has gotten worse over time. If Scott took a REAL look in the mirror he would see what we do.

If we had a competent line, everything would be better. I think even Adrian would be better.

lol classic boomers giving up when things dont go their way lmao boo hoo
Boomers? Giving up? We’re you even alive or shitting anything but yellow when Nebraska was great? 50 years of being a fan is something to hang ones hat on. But 20 years of futility and 3+ years of HORRIBLE football is enough for anyone to question the program.

Frost and little Lubick too.
I dont think Frost is the main issue here (other than his ability to see what is right in front of all of us) and the jury is out on Lubick. WIthout a decent line, you really cant do ANYTHING on offense well. And then comes QB. If we start getting average to above average QB play, we can compete in the division.

I will always be a Husker fan. I'm an alum a diehard fan and I just can't quit the Huskers. As pissed as I get I always come back and will always watch the games. It does suck just having to take ribbing from everyone and have to talk about a terrible team for year after year. Hopefully things will finally get better, but life is too short to dwell on it too much.

It ain't over now, 'cause when the goin' gets tough, the tough get goin'. Who's with me? Let's go! Come on!... Hoooo!!

Then why hack on the boomers? When the apathy is spread across a pretty broad spectrum from what I’m reading on this board. And been around means what? How old were you? 71 - 17, 72 - 18, 94 - 40, 95 - 41, 97 - 43.

P.S just re read my original response. Sorry didnt mean to say yellow as in cowardly. it edited out my slang for pooping “sh**ing” prior to yellow.

I almost started a thread similar to yours yesterday, OP. When we lost 10-56 at Michigan 2 years ago, Frost said we had finally hit “rock bottom.” I was at that game in Ann Arbor, and even though we finished the year 4-2, I still did not feel like our program hit rock bottom that day. I don’t consider myself a negative person, but I had a weird hunch we still had a ways to go down overall. I didn’t voice that opinion on here because I didn’t want to be right. With all of the inconsistency, blowouts, administration politics in the NU football offices, tension the past 20 years, and lack of consistent, fundamental football, I don’t let the losses sting like they used to. I used to be beside myself until Tuesday/Wednesday after a loss, now it only takes until Sunday morning.

Fast forward to the meltdown at Illinois and I honestly sense that our program has finally hit an actual rock bottom. The manner in which we lost that game completely deflated the vast majority of staff, team and fan base. I think the players and staff and program in general finally feel like they’ve hit a true rock bottom. Will Frost & Friends climb out? Looks pretty unlikely but who knows. We’ve still got 11 games left. Focus on fundamentals, make it bear fruit and I’ll start watching more. In the meantime, fall is upon us and it’s a beautiful time of year here in Nebraska. Let’s enjoy it!

I must have missed history class, I thought the japs bombed pearl harbor not the Germans. Either way it looks like a bomb exploded on our team and they can't figure out how to fix the issues.

I've been a for about the same length of time. I have not watched too many games in their entirety after halftime. I know we're going to lose and I can't take watching this product do the same thing week after week. I know it's not all talent. I watch Iowa week after week play totally sound football. I see KSU beat Oklahoma, Iowa State get better every year, NW somehow win games they shouldn't. I wanted Frost to win but it's obvious he's over his head. I want to just get back to play sound football that goes to bowl games. I won't watch this weekend...why ...it's a practice. The sellout will end. Moos knew to get out didn't he. Wake me up when they announce the new HC.

That's where I arrived, too. I shut the game off in the second half and dropped my expectations to "they lose EVERY game" for this team. Zero exaggeration, it won't surprise me if they lose to Fordham at home on Saturday.

I was haunted all offseason by this business of "Oh they return so many guys, so much more experience." And I kept thinking, "You mean the same losers who lost all those games the last two years?"

That we didn't pursue any QB to compete for so much as a backup job in the offseason tells me this staff is clueless. Adrian was below average yet again on Saturday and they dialed up FORTY SEVEN passes for him. Not a glimpse of Smothers, not even for a series or a package.

The kids don't know how to win and the staff doesn't know what to do about it. They'll be LUCKY to win 4 this year. Damn lucky.

I’m with you! I’ll just say to the Defensive Staff that you guys have steadily improved and shown progress the last four years. Thank you!

But SF and the Offensive Staff, and Special Teams have no business coaching at a P5 school or even at the High School Varsity level. Your Offense is weak and you failed the Offensive players here.

I won’t wear any Husker gear until SF wins a game that matters which I know won’t happen while he is here. I don’t know what SF and the Offense practice the last four years but it doesn’t show at game time! I am being highly critical but have always given credit when due and frankly I can’t find any credit for poor line and QB play the last 4 years. SF has us dead last in the BIG10 and will never get it done here. Time to go!
