The media smell blood and they are in a frenzy right now with Diaco throwing chum in the water. The faster November 25th can get here, the better for all parties involved at this point. What happens between now and then won't help the program in any way most likely.

It certainly would be nice to be discussing great football at this point. This s*it is getting old.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I would actually be in favor of keeping Diaco on as the defensive coordinator (assuming there is a new head coach next season.)

Say what you want, but I believe there's been major disruption in changing the system, hearing from a new voice as the D coordinator, a new tackling method, likely not the right skill set for a 3-4 system, etc.

What I've mostly witnessed is a team that seems to settle down in the second halves of games. I think over time, when a team is more comfortable in a scheme or system, they won't need that settling down.

I disagree. I think Diaco might be one of the biggest tools ever hired at NU as a coordinator. Last night, he had a chance to back off of his previous bs and own it. Instead, he piled on another 50 lbs of bs.

I would almost rather keep Riley WITHOUT Diaco, than have Diaco around here any more than three more games. I actually feel bad for Riley, because he has to really be saying to himself, how the hell did I get stuck with this clown.

On top of that, BD is very overrated as a DC.

It's clear now why at first Riley told him he didn't have to do press conferences after the games.

Diaco after Ark. State:

"Mark, when I interviewed you told me I don't have to do pressers. Now you want me to do them? Okie dokie. I'll do the pressers. I'll do the hell out of them."

"Hey Parella, bet you 50 bucks I can work the phrase 'spectacular strain' into one of these down the stretch. What's that? Double or nothing on that plus the phrase 'reasonable reason'? With an extra hundred on a 12 minute uninterrupted monologue down the stretch? You're on!"

Husker fans will get drama...either from a good team, or a good firing...this sport is for entertainment...nothing else...and we better get it...or the billion dollars that has been sunk into it over the last 30 years is a waste.

You mean the drama circus that fans continue to keep in forefront with all sorts of speculation and behind the scenes trappings?

If we could cut out the cable guys, maybe things would settle down.

We were winning without Phillips. That situation was not ignored or handled incorrectly IMO.

No one said it was ignored or handled incorrectly. I started my sentence by sharing the main point which is winning solves almost everything. Had Bo Pelini won a couple of conference titles he would have lasted longer. Fans would have had a longer leash.

I was chatting with a friend (okay, with my dog because I have no friends) but if Bo had won 1 more game a year...so just 7 more wins...not only is he still here but he might be considered a top 5 coach, how scary is that to think?

You are spot on! two or three plays goes our way and we have a couple of conference titles and 10+ win seasons.

Not sure if it was handled "improperly" or not. It was certainly handled differently than Scott Baldwin. what happened to him I think clearly influenced T.O.'s handling of LP.

My bad. Overlooking was the word. Agreed on winning cures all. But I don't think the Phillips situation was overlooked. Ppl knew he had problems and it was Toms job to handle it. He did what he thought was best for LP not NU.

It doesn't take more than a year to teach basic fundamentals in things such as tackling. Our tackling and other fundamentals is worse under Diaco than it ever was with Banker.
