I don't like my brick

And it's is very rough, textured. I could paint but I don't want to do it every four or five years. I'm also worried about getting in every nook and cranny. Can I not just slap some faux rock on the existing brick?

Have it professionally painted. It will last a good bit if done right.

Aren't some brick styles able to be sandblasted and look kinda cool? Guess maybe that's only an option for already painted brick.

I really hate painted brick. Maybe whitewashing is okay if it goes with the rest of the house. Otherwise, I wouldn't touch it if it is in good shape.

It's yellow. It's got to go somehow some way. I have a local guy coming to look at it and I ran into a company at the garden show that does permanent sealing so supposedly it will only have to be painted once ever.


I want to do the fake stickem rock but my wife is against it.

I don't know how big your house is, but some people have put stucco over it. With the rough texture it might be a good fix. Not cheap, though.
