I don't get what's going on.

Fast forward to March. This team will make at least the Sweet 16. That's why I don't sweat Nov games with young teams. Cal has ALWAYS brought his teams a million miles by March. This team will be no different

Like everyone, I watched thinking WTF and things got better as the game went on. I kept telling my wife this team had Georgetown down 19 before losing that there must be something good in them.

Two things I just can not stop thinking about.
1. I am not alone on this one, but why do we not run an offense? This "go make a play" is street ball. This teams name is "helter skelter".

2. I know it is early and Rome wasn't built in a day, but watching these guys and seeing the team coming in next year, who is leaving to make room for the class of new players? If anyone tells me we have an NBA player on this team right now, then the NBA is in trouble. Maybe in months, or a couple years, but not now.

I truly respect everyones opinion, try not to bash anyone but folks, things are not rosy right now. It is not just us here on RR; I have read many articles where people are saying pretty much the same thing, we are struggling more this year than any of Cal's; this team has the lowest ceiling of any of Cal's, fans are not going to games, we should be a top defensive team at some point, but not now, almost all sportswriters are saying what we all here on RR are saying.
The one that got me was the article on ESPN calling Kentucky the biggest disappointment of the year so far.
That hurt this old cat fan.

I agree that things aren’t Rosy. But a 9th ranked cat team with a win over the #1 team in the country is not a disappointment at all.

It is all a work in progress. I hate losing to Evansville but it is not always easy for us at the start of the season. Think about when you started a new job or your first time on the playground it is not always easy to just get right into the flow and work and play with others. Your confidence can get low and when you expect someone to zig they zag. With young teams every year what we become is usually better than what our first impression was.

Yes I know...we should all celebrate making a comeback on a 1 and 4 team that couldnt compete with Oak Hill Academy... with the highest paid coach in the country with a top recruiting class in the country at home in Rupp arena that supposedly one of the toughest places in the country to play in. #ThumbsUp

They were up 19 on Georgetown who just gave Duke a game.

I try not to pass judgement on young players this early in the season. Last year many people were spouting none of our guys would get drafted in the first round...wrong, Herro, PJ and Keldon all were. I believe there's a good chance Richards and Maxey will be first rounders as well.

We have the potential to make a final four run. We'll just have to wait and see how much the guys develop individually....and whether Cal can build the required team chemistry.

A continued improvement in EJ and maintaining his improvement by Richards will cure those.
