No sorrow due when you are paid that much to coach a college team. Even if they grabbed him after the game and put him on a train to Denver I wouldn't feel sorry for him.

Don't see the need for a thread like this.....even though we'll probably see at 15 more like them tonight alone.
The need is that i have been somewhat of a give Riley a chance thus far and now i have officially given up on his vision and coaching attempt.. if you dont see a need for it dont reply on my opinion on a football board after watching another game LOST by poor coaching time management and a uninspired team

The huge failure this staff has been has really thrown you into a tailspin. At least you are over your weird defense mechanism of calling everyone Bloners that saw how ****** this staff was long ago. Kudos.
I am in a "tailspin"? Keep defending the JUCO coach

Carry on then, Captain Obvious.

I tell myself to not get sucked in, not this team, not this coach. but i did, then they let me down throwing for the endzone on 1st when a FG would win the friggin game and only about 10+ yards to get into DB's range. I hate myself so much when i believe in this team.

Not sure who the next coach should be. Iowa St is back to being themselves, proving my earlier suspicions that they were nothing but spoilers against overrated conference opponents. As much as i want frost a good portion of me worries he might not be ready to pull the right assistants for this program.

Going to drink heavily. We had a complete meltdown, team doesnt handle success at all, the second we are doing well we implode and have to crawl back. Maybe that is what MR is best at coaching the "crawl back into contention" approach. **** this ****!

Any one of these coaches and their fates... none
There is just no emotion, no fire. Almost like nobody, players, or coaches care to be there. Just going through the motions because they know they are suppose to.

I have some empathy because the situation sucks for everyone. But, yeah, the coaches will be fine.
Anybody that doesn't have some empathy for people losing their jobs needs to reflect a little on their own life. Some of these guys are young guys not making a ton of money and now they have to uproot their families and move again, sell a house, move their kids away from friends etc. The life of a college coach can be tough. I don't get the personalized anger at these coaches. They've done the best they could and have been respectful of our fans.

I think this is definitely true for the young assistants. They make pretty good stinking money for coaching football but they are always one year away from not having a paycheck. Let's be honest...most of these guys are not going to find good power 5 jobs.

Now, Riley, I don't feel all that sorry for him. I'm sorry things didn't work out but he's going to get a truckload of money (even more b/c of the contract extension last year...thank goodness Hank told SE to wait until December before adding another year to the contract) and told to go fishing and ride his bike. He kind of won the lottery no matter how good/bad his team was.

I hope we can end the season with some positive games. I'm not feeling sorry for MR financially certainly but it's not the way you want to see somebody end a job.
