I don’t understand Gordon here in ..

I seriously doubt Gordon

has aspirations (in baseball) past his MSU career.

So, he will likely give what he has to the team.

True but he threw 40 yesterday and another 12-15 tonight.
When White was pitching like he was, leave him in with a 5 run lead and give Gordon a chance with a days rest to come back tomorrow night if needed.
I know he’s thrown 100 pitches in a game but we may need him tomorrow and now he’s thrown close to 60 in two straight days.
Better to have him available with a little rest

Loved it. Gives Colby rest and Gordon will pitch til his arm falls off.

I agree with you. Could have thrown pretty much anybody there, so why throw a guy that threw 40 yesterday and we could need badly in the next 2 days if things don't go as planned

Saving White for tomorrow. Decision has been made that Gordon will not pitch tomorrow, but could on Monday for an inning or 2 if needed. Not a bad move at all.

Dude has another month or so left in his baseball career. I bet nobody on Team Cole is keeping a pitch count.
