We have played 4 straight evening games. It is in the 70’s tonight. Now we will play tomorrow between off and on rain showers with humiditure somewhere between 105 and Hell-fire!

Embrace it. It's better than having to hear ole miss fans continually ***** about how easy our path is.

The loser of our game will have to play OSU after a day of rest. Tough twist for the L of our game.

It's not that North Carolina can't get hot, but it's nothing like Mississippi heat which our guys are used to. Bring it on!!

Their path was admittedly harder. I mean OVC/Atlantic 10 competition is nothing to sneeze at. We've only beaten PAC 10, Big 12, SEC, and ACC opponents in the post season so far (all away from home), so yeah we have a lot to prove.

They seem to be truly reveling in this run. We may run out of juice but I know this team will fight til the last out. That's all I can ever ask for.

I don't think this is a bad thing. We needed to win tonight too. We are ok.

Difficult situations and adverse conditions typically favor the team that is mentally tougher. If we think we’ve got more mental toughness, I’m not sure how this is any worse for us than it is for UNC.

A month ago bruiser crowned Ole Miss Baseball national champs.

Not exactly the opinion which draws concern.

This team has more Girodos than the team with Girodo on the roster.

Honestly we caught a big rain delay break in Tallahassee. So I ain't going to get bent out of shape over this.

We beat Samford and Oklahoma both in one day a couple of weeks ago.

Its not ideal, but it's part of playing outdoor sports

Note that these are the only conferences represented in Omaha.

I did? Hmm. Guess if I did say they WOULD win the NC, then I must be wrong. Because they aren’t at Omaha. And The Bulldogs are.

I bet you are just talented enough to pull that post up where I “crowned” them NC. I’ll wait.

Still waiting.

You said they had passed us and had a chance to win it all this year. A lot of sky is falling in many of your posts. You gave no mention of us having a chance a month ago (even telling everyone to pump the brakes when we swept Florida and had people talking about this run). TBone is right. If you said it just own it.

It won’t get above 83 during our game tomorrow.

They had passed us. They were a Top 10 team. We were hanging on by a thread having to win our last 3 just to get in to the SEC tourney. We would not have made a Regional at 14-16. Meanwhile, they were a Top 4 National Seed. They had the talent to win it all. They just didn’t have the “heart”.

Turns out MSU had more heart than Ole Miss had talent. We are where I expected us to be when the season started. But then, things went south. The Freshmen gave us a lift mid-season when it was clear they were going to have to grow up fast. And they did. Very proud of this Bulldog team. This time, “Heart” overcame. But I never “crowned” Ole Miss NC. Simply said they could win it all because of their talent. They’re not in Omaha. We are.

So... I am still waiting for the proof that I crowned Ole Miss NC.

I started this thread because I hated to see anything upset the flow of how things had been going for this team. Simple as that. Had nothing to do with the Bears.

As far as not getting as much rest, the kids are used to playing double headers and 3 game weekend series. It’s better not to have a long layover as far as hitting is concerned. I guess if you get deep into the bullpen one day you can run up against some problems the next. I assume we will start Billingsley regardless.

A lot of words to say that you freaked out because they won the meaningless SEC tourney, like you were told repeatedly at the time. I mean they did come within 7 wins of the title you were freaking out about. Also, “programs” are based on what teams did the previous week, per Bruiser.

Means nothing. Go play ball. We have no
Pressure and UNC will have bigger probs with heat and humidity.

Nope. I merely stated a “fact” back then. They had the talent to win in all. Now we are in a position to win it all. That didn’t happen in a week’s time, but it did change in a couple of week’s time.

Nothing more. Nothing less. That’s Baseball.

If we win today, we will be one win closer to playing for a NC. If we lose today, we will be one loss away from elimination. Not rocket science. One or the other is going to happen because there’s no ties in baseball when you get to this point.

Enjoy the surprising ride. I am.

So....15-15 = 2 seed, 14-16 = out of tourney? No way in hell.

Your statement about the SEC tourney is way off as well. Even at 14-16, we would have finished ahead of Kentucky (13-17), A&M (13-17), Mizzou (12-18 ), Tenn (12-18 ), and Alabama (8-22). It wouldn’t have changed our place in the standings one bit to lose another game.

As CGH said yesterday, weather delays are part of the culture of this sport. Just gotta deal with that along with the 'seeing eye' base hits and the rockets hit right at someone.

It looks like there's a good chance that no one plays tomorrow. And they may be lucky to get through two games today.

Yeah. People freaking out over nothing. The loser of this game won't be at a significant disadvantage even if the next game is played tomorrow, which is questionable anyway.
