For most of the game we were down significantly. To be honest I forgot about the game til late but turned it on to see us finish on a 17-0 run to win by 9. Guess I was good luck.

It was a typical early season game for a team with their PG suspended and players trying to find their new roles after your #1 player graduated.

Terrible ball handling led to an enormous amount of turnovers early. Carter was the only person who knew how to find his points in the first half. ****** defense and rebounding. SHS was all over our guys creating turnovers,

Then we stopped turning the ball over. Perry and the other players started scoring, we cranked up our defense, and we took the game over.

It's early, but if we can begin games playing better defense and do a better job of taking care of the ball we can make some noise this season. Carter is fantastic and we have several players who can score this year if they get their heads together.

I'm kinda glad we are having to fight in these early season games instead of having sacrificial lambs because they are going to need to start games better than that to win in the SEC this season.

Were the players without the ball on offense moving around well or just standing around?

Also SHS is a Southland Conference member. SC teams seem to make noise and provide some upsets come tourney time.

Perry also got 2 fouls in the first 3 minutes and was out of sync the whole game. He had 7 turnovers. Rebounding actually was not bad, we just did not get enough shots attempted due to t/o’s. Tyson really shot the ball well & I was impressed with DJ Stewart’s play
