The Celtics put up 50 threes in their loss to the Bucks today. (50 of their 84 shots) and got clobbered. The first 10 shots in the Memphis/Golden State game were threes. Whatever happened to trying to set up and execute actual plays? If I were Adam Silver I'd move the three point lie back even further to encourage a more diversified and interesting game rather than simply having a three point shooting contest. Even when there is a lot of passing, the end result seems to be to try to find the best three point shot. I apologize for the rant but, ah, I'm feeling better already :)

I rarely watch the NBA. It is all about one-on-one and 3 pointers. Very little player movement and passing to set up easy buckets closer inside. I really have no interest in watching.

Analytics say that the most efficient shots in the game are either layups or the corner three pointer due to a slightly shorter distance. Outside of a few guys like Steph Curry and DeMar DeRozan who are exceptional at mid range stuff, you have a league who plays to get guys driving to the hoop for labs or foul shots or kick outs for three pointers since that’s what the data says works best.

Well, not only can't I stand today's NBA, I can't stand yesterday's NBA or tomorrow's NBA.
