I hope he chokes out completely.... There are not a lot of athletes I can say that about, but I really don't want him to win ever again.... Does that make me a bad person?

My beef is his cocky strut when he's on and his sulking walk when he's off, just not a good look. I think he is a good guy at heart though! Different path to greatness from the average tour pro. His Dad tended bar, I believe as a second job. He said they were at the range one day practicing for several hour and he asked his Dad for one more bucket and his Dad said I don't have naymore money.

I like Rory a lot - don`t know what`s not to like.
If you've ever been to a pro event that featured either or both, particularly when Woods was at his peak, that question answered itself post haste and emphatically.

Rory wears his emotions on his sleeve. Most of us want to see that. He's not one of the typical robot type PGA players looking for a Top 10 paycheck.

I'll pull for him because of his defense of the PGA.

I’m liking Cameron Young. If he pulls it off there’ll be voluminous ‘pause at top like Cameron’ swing tips. I tried it yesterday and compressed it pretty solid, probably just a W.O.O.D. though.

I've posted on this subject before so I'll repeat myself. Still don't understand the American golf fans' love affair with Rory. He's not American. Scheffler is and is currently ranked number one. I'd much rather share a beer with Irishman Shane Lowry. Maybe Rory is popular on social media?

Oh I believe that American golf fans like Scottie best. But just admire Rory’s “going to bat” for PGA tour, I used to not pull for Tiger, but I am a Tiger fan now!! I am a walking scorers at Wells Fargo (now Truist) and Rory has supported that tournament as was his first win on Tour!!

I'm going to make this prediction. Due to his overall involvement in the welfare of the game, and his unabashed appreciation of the Masters Tournament and the Augusta National Golf Club, if he does nothing to debase his reputation, he will be a full member at Augusta one day.

He had a great round - he needed one more made putt for the thing to go into a playoff.
The other guy in his pairing shot an 80 and made him wait quite a while between some shots. That has to have some effect, however four bogey-free rounds at the Masters is outstanding.

Part of it is how much the commentators constantly praise him and his game. I felt the same about Woods back in the day (not to the extent of your disdain for Rory lol), likely for the same reason.

You're onto something there. CBS was showing him just walking to his ball instead of showing other players making shots.

Yeah, I said to my bro-in-law, yeah they are gushing over him because he's trying to win it back to back, with all due respect he is the lead story and boy does CBS love a story at the Master's. To which he replied what about Rose trying to win it at 100! Ha

I could see that, when Rose got to the lead and the lead became two shots, they were more than ready to accentuate that story - more than ready. Nothing wrong with a story. Jack was a monster story in 1986. Crenshaw was the monster story the week his coach died. Rose unfortunately let go of his chance to be the story. Bad to bogey both 11 and 12 without ever going in the water.

I guess if you’re a Rory fan you liked the coverage; that’s how I was for Tiger in his heyday; even now actually. I find Rory a bit boring, but I’ll say this: I’ve seen a lot of pros hit tee shots now up close. I caught Rory up close for the first time at no.1 tee box at the masters the year Patrick reed won; his tee shot floored me. The most powerful and majestic shot I’ve ever seen. He’s definitely got a bit extra.
