Asking where the game is on TV makes me think back to my childhood and teenage years in the 1970s and early 1980s.
My options for following the Mountaineers were:
Go to the game (we went a couple of times per season - from Mercer County),
Listen to Jack Flemming on radio,
Or- watch the 5 or 6 games a season that the Mountaineer Sports Network would televise in-state on local stations.
Nationally? I remember the WVU-Notre Dame games was on TV (1976?)... and I don't think I saw another regular season game on TV until UNLV around 1981 or 82. Oddly, a game against South Alabama was on national TV around that time.
Football was same. WVU-Pitt was on ABC in 1976... and next game on network I think was WVU-Pitt in 1982.
Oklahoma game was on the new "ESPN" (which we didn't get).
1981 Peach Bowl was syndicated. I think MSN broadcast the Hawaii game back to the state.
Sometimes I am amazed that I get to watch almost every game now.
