with one of the assistants that came from Arkansas. They (the staff) truly thought they were going to beat MSU like they had for the previous umpteen years. They "got" the LSU rivalry because they had lived it. Said they had never thought much about the MSU rivalry, especially after what happened in 2008. Said they would never make that mistake again. Said after winning back to back Cotton Bowls all folks talked about was the MSU game. We may never beat MSU again under Nutt, but it won't be because we've overlooked you regardless of your record.

what the hell is all that information on the sheets of paper? Just how well are they trying to get to know their enemy?

petty and is ridiculous. I can't believe they would do this. They act as if we are the only game that matters to them.

/and every other thing that was said on nafoom about Mullen

if Masoli doesn't show up and by the way Croom and his clowns don't coach here anymore so overlooking us won't be an option going forward. It is hard to believe you people actually believe you are that much better than everyone else and you wonder why everyone in the conference dispises you.

we get it. We won because Ole Miss didn't give a **** that day. For eight months now it has been explained to us. We understand. I swear I wouldn't know what to do without some rebel explaining every thing to me.

If it was in a Red Crayon with big letters it would be better.

that after all the clowns on nafoom gave Dan so much hell, that not one of them have said one thing about this yet. Go figure.

it's kind of human nature. All football teams do it. If we don't want to be overlooked, win some games.

That being said, the nature in which we beat them down proved that they not only overlooked us, but that the teams were very comparable. Overlooking ie "being down for the game" is worth about a touchdown at best. The rest is just because we outcoached and outplayed them.

The Alabamas of the world with great talent and great depth can overlook people. Not Ole Miss.

everyone at Ole Miss really wanted to go to the Cotton Bowl to play in the new Cowboys stadium, and if they would have beaten us, they would have gone to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando so they let us win.

I kid you not.

I told him we wanted to save money on bowl game travel so we have let people win for 10 years.

I just e-mailed this picture to him with the statement: Don't care about us, huh?

They wouldn't be any fun if it was any different. I'll just keep agreeing and agreeing with my rebel buddies just to get a laugh out of it all. They can rationalize anything, you have to admire their optimism sometimes. Maybe we should try it.

....the fact that we didn't play Relf much during the year so we could spring him on Ole Miss during the Egg Bowl. In so doing, we lost some games we could've won, but hey, the Ole Miss game is that important, and we didn't want to give them any film to look at.

They bitched and moaned every single day (and still are) about us doing this exact same thing. Now they're justifying them doing it by...well hell they aren't even justifying it. They're just turning his post around and saying basically nothing???

its perfectly okay for them to do this, and not hypocritical at all b/c Mullen also refers to them as TeeSUN.

Im not sure how that makes this any less hilarious.

Yeah, it doesnt.

The fact the thread is this long and there hasn't been a single attempt to justify this says it all.

of all the rivalries, especially in-state ones, do you really think any of the teams aren't obsessed with beating each other? look at what's going on right now between idaho and boise st. do you think they aren't a little obsessed? and even more so in our region where sports are a huge part of our culture. i don't get why that's such a destructive claim to make. we have a lot of recruiting battles against each other and constantly have to fight to keep up with the rest of the conference. so both sides should be obsessed with beating the other. not to where we would concede a win just to see the other side lose, but that how we feel about the previous season has a lot to do with what the outcome of our game was

My favorite part is that it was immideately a State fan that snuck into their locker room to take the picture.

I had a muppet... oops, I mean rebelacquaintance tell me after the egg bowl that we "saved up our best plays for the egg bowl because it was the only game that we cared about". I laughed so hard I almost choked on the drink in my mouth. Anyone with a brain and saw that game knew EVERY play we were going to run in the ENTIRE second half, and do you know why? Because ALL WE RAN THE WHOLE GAME WAS THE BASIC QB OPTION PLAY, and iftheircoaching staff had any sense at all, they would have known how to stop it after, oh say the 20th time we ran it. We did nothing tricky all game and they knew what was coming, OM was simplyout-coached (if you can even consider calling the same running play all day long coaching) and out-executed. That simple. All this guy talked about was how we "saved Relf" for that one game.Apparently this dumb *** was too oblivious to know that Relf played in every game that Mullen allowed him to play in because he was suspended for half the season, and when he was in the game, every other team we played knew exactly what was coming and how to stop it. That should tell you about the coaching up in Oxford.<div>
</div><div>We did nothing tricky in the egg bowl and held nothing back all year. All we did was run it up their *** all day long til they cried uncle, and if they don't agree, then they obviously never even watched the game.</div><div>
</div><div>Restassured, when we beat them again next year, it will be a new slew of excuses. It is simply not in their DNA to every admit they were outdone in any way, athletically or academically. </div>

By my count, that's

Nutt - about 5
Mullen - about 500.

It's different strategies in dealing with the rivalry, but it's no secret which coach likes to mention the other school more than the other.

Exactly. Usually it takes about 3 or 4 posts before a rebel has to chime in. This thread has been going on for what, 2 hours or so, and not one of them have said one thing.

Mullen makes mention more. But let's be honest, people try to get him to say it now so that's why its more prevalent.

But nothing about all that makes the sign in the locker room any less hilarious after all we've heard about our locker room.
