It’s easier when their undersized SEC player of the year draws a whistle every time he touches the ball...just saying. In all fairness they have for sure overachieved.
Why does he get the whistles? Is it a mandate from the league?

What, do you even watch our games? Refs have it out for Williams
Shot ten plus free throws at Rupp Arena, that’s all I’m saying. And yes my daughter plays travel soccer for a team based out of Knoxville and I do watch the games. Probably more than your so called basketball fans.

I understand where he is coming from. Just like Sexton, he is a star and stars get the benefit of the doubt whenever he goes up for a shot. Officials have done that for years, no mandate its more like their own personal rule. I think it started with Michael Jordan. :)

They will bow out early in the NCAA tournament. Rick Barnes is a choker of a coach. His time at Texas was filled with pretty good teams and come tournament time they would just fold.

I like this UT basketball team. Seem like good kids, play hard, and play as a team. Barnes has kind of reinvented himself. At Texas, he recruited blue chips and seemed to mostly underachieve. At Tennessee, he's not get the five star talent, but is winning with grit. Tomorrow will be tough. Hoping we win, but either way, I'll be rooting for UT and the other SEC teams in the big dance.

Tennessee = attempted 653 free throws
Kentucky = attempted 786 free throws

So are you arguing then that the # of free throws attempted is dependent on the favoritism of the refs? Great point

He said Greg or Gary or whatever his name is the one to get the whistle. We drive the lane...a lot. That’s why we have more attempts. I fully expect Wenyen to be in foul trouble early to keep y’all in it. We’ve just come to expect a tight whistle when Barnes is playing Cal.

Didn’t say the team, I said one player. Of course we are gonna shoot more free throws, we aren’t a perimeter team and we attack the glass. Check your stats on Williams.

I am very impressed at what the Vols have been able to accomplish so far this year. They are playing undersized without any huge name recruits. They play very tough and as a team. Having said all that I think we take them tomorrow.
But Rick Barnes can coach a lick , right?

Williams attacks the rim and goes strong, the same argument could be used.
PJ attacks the rim just as hard but often gets his head taken off with no call. I’m just saying I’ve watched a lot of their games and he gets the superstar treatment even out on the perimeter. You may not agree but it’s my opinion. I also feel the same way about Chris Silva from South Carolina.

Rick Barnes is a good coach. Hopefully Cal has an answer. Phil Fulmer is now the UT Athletic Director. Nothing would please me more than if our Cats win in St. Louis come tomorrow.
