yes, there was a couple of times we had basically no starters out there and a collection of players playing that have been
questioned all year long....

and yet, we survived

Had flu per pike. Had him and Jones been healthy we probably win going away considering how well we shot the ball

A healthy Hyatt to sub into the front rotation would’ve helped defend in the paint and would’ve been 5 extra competent fouls to give where we had no answer whatsoever with Cliff on the bench. No doubt.

But I strongly disagree on Jones adding material value in this game. Consistent perimeter defense from start to finish (outside of some kick outs off offensive rebounds) was immensely important to keeping this game close throughout. That should be attributed to having at least 2 of 3 - Caleb, Mag and Miller on the floor together defending the perimeter for at least 35 of the 40 minutes - maybe more as Pike subbed Paul out for Miller on defense. Our offense eventually stalls when we can’t get stops no matter who is in the game. Always has. We couldn’t stop Purdue in the paint but we shut down their perimeter game and refused to allow them to run an inside out shop.
