Up 7-0 in 8th inning. Will Huskers follow AZ State series to sweep Wolverines and put strong case for an NCAA bid?

Nice rebound the past two weekends. A good showing in the conference tournament would be great, especially since that’s what the Big Ten was counting on when they made Omaha its regular home.

Is it just me or do Erstad's teams sort of reflect a MLB player's mentality....don't get too high or too low and turn it on when it really matters??? Not sure where they get that from ?Winking

Good to know that as we approach the end of season #7, it finally really matters.

Why would anyone be upset about a team that is potentially one win away from winning the regular season title?

I see a lot of people who get too down or up over the course of a season. Baseball, like basketball is not a sport where many teams win 75% of your games. Winning series (66%) is very desirable.

It seems some on here would be disappointed if the team sweeps Michigan to finish on top of the conference. That’s a shame.

Anybody in Lincoln? What's the weather look like? Wanted to watch this one, but I gotta be up about 5.

Thanks for yet another heaping helping of sanctimonious psychoanalysis, but nobody said they don’t want NU to sweep Michigan. I just don’t buy the idea that Erstad’s teams have some sort of history of “turning it on when it really counts.” Can you offer some examples that would show this to be a pattern? If you can, I’m all ears.

I’m not a serious baseball fan. I don’t have historical information for you. I’m just reacting to the tone of messages by some fans who arguably are pissed that the Huskers May finish first or second in conference play. Like they want a guy fired so badly, they start to subconsciously cheer against the team. Just cheer for a team to finish at the top of a conference. Don’t make judgments until a full body of work is done. (Not to you, just in general). The amount of fans who think their opinion about a coach’s performance is superior to an AD is funny to me. Seems we trust Moos to do his job. Let him make big boy decisions. In the meantime, why not enjoy a pretty solid performance by the team instead of complaining about inconsistency.

Swing the bat!! Fast ball right down the middle, and you're going to watch it go past you being down by 2 in the bottom of the 9th?!! You gotta put the ball in play!!

Absolute ridiculous nonsense. I am about as big a critic of Erstad as anyone, and I have NEVER for a moment wanted us to lose, even in the back of my mind. NEVER. If you're not a serious baseball fan, then how about not pontificating on things you really don't know or apparently care about. All you are here to do is to cause trouble with your mindless drivel. I'd like to know where these comments from people who are pissed that we had a chance to finish first were. I certainly didn't see them.
