Hope you’re sitting down for this, but…

Not a good start.
If Fred can't grow the stones to establish AND insist on players running some sort of offense, i will help him pack. We look like a really disappointing city-league team. Again. And again... Makes me long to watch our football team that at least played hard, and with a plan.

I like the idea of pulling everyone that takes a bad shot, but since they ALL take bad shots I do worry that we won’t be able to put 5 on the floor

After a slow start, NU got things going and lead 45-34 at half. We are shooting the 3s much better tonight. Probably because they are mostly getting set and not relying on the step back.

This is going to end up as a ~20 point win, but there was nothing impressive about this win - other than it might be the last one of the season. They are hard to watch, maybe because there is nothing they do well.

I suppose they could find a win or two in conference. I haven’t seen everyone in the B1G, so maybe there is another team or two that NU can compete with. I would not be surprised by 0-20 in the league. 3 wins would surprise me more.

Only watching a few minutes at the end. Looks like a garbage ball AAU game. Last win of the season?

Tough crowd. 52% from three on 29 shots is somewhat impressive, particularly for this team.

Probably not often. No one does that regularly against any opponent, and they still don't have the inside presence to compete with most of the B10. But, on this one night, it was something at least.

Fred had a quick hook in this game, making it clear after the horrible start that bad shots and dumb plays would get you benched. It worked, and made for a much higher quality of play.

Okay, okay - it was against Kennesaw State. But I still think it showed that these guys are capable of playing better if they turn up their give-a-crap factor.

That’s what’s disappointing about Trev’s 3 year in Lincoln having recruited no inside presence…

Next question, how many times can they accomplish this against the Big 10 part of the schedule..
FWIW Pavelka pointed out that Kenesaw St had single digit losses on the road at Iowa St and Creighton earlier in the year. Their record is a little bit deceiving. Hopefully this will give the Huskers some confidence going forward.

I didn’t watch the game but hopefully the benchings helped the defense play a little harder. Effort has been questionable.

Kennesaw State is currently ranked 268 out of 358 teams on kenpom (we're 137th).

nothing deceiving about it. they blow.

I will be surprised if that's not our last W of the year. our coach belongs at Kennesaw St. maybe his early 2000s concepts that lucked him into the rest of his career (Fred has had 2 good seasons, ever) would work in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

I have season tickets and this was one of the better efforts so far. Long way to go , but there were signs of progress.

Yeah that didnt work. I watched highlights or lack thereof. One play Verge got the ball stolen and didnt even try to chase the guy down the court. This team is the most selfish MBA wannabe team I have ever seen. They think they are in the league already.

We've played some really teams close. We can definitely win some more games this year if they keep improving and making adjustments.

This game started out as bad as they have been lately. We were getting torched from the start. But when the players started getting benched there was better ball movement and they adjusted. Maybe that'll be enough to get a few more Ws this year

I was going to use an old coaching analogy about giving the players enough rope, but I'm afraid someone will go all woke on that. So, I'll put it this way, sometimes you have to let them fail at doing it their way before they will listen to you. Fred may have gone a little too far with that, but hopefully at this point players will at least start to understand that what they have been doing leads to abject failure and will start to listen and to and actually internalize coaching instruction (giving FH and staff benefit of the doubt that what they trying to teach will work) --- still not enough inside game to expect much out of the season, though.

Oh, and Mr. Tominaga, I understand it hasn't been a good season so far, but might be time to stop screaming after each made three pointer like an 8th grade sub who hit his first 3 pointer of his life . . . . embarrassing.

Seem to remember at ISU their offense was basically get it down the court and shoot. However at ISU they made those shots. We are running his same ISU offense, we just can’t shoot.

A good coach will have a standard of play that is acceptable and not adjust it game to game. I think a star player would have had to pull his shorts down and taken a sh*t on the court in order to get pulled from the lineup prior to this game.
