One word for you 43 FT to 15 Ft and you’re at home don’t put the football program with this basketball game..
I get it. And NU had multiple opportunities to put the game away despite that discrepancy with FTs/layups/basic D and couldn’t do it. It’s mental and lack of fundamentals—football and basketball assume they are going to lose close games.

Take a look at the video above you..That’s the reason why we lost.. 43 FT compared to only shooting 15..Don‘t compare this to the football’s mental lapses at the end of games..

Geezus man did you even watch the game? I understand that they had a "chance" to win the game but damn it's tough when you're playing 5 on 8. Verge SHOULD have had 2 freethrows at the end of regulation. All he had to do was make ONE and we win. Those kids got screwed. Pure and simple. That last foul on Briedenbach should have been a jump ball for instance. Call after call went like that last night. Despicable reffing.

Yes , they got screwed multiple times. I’m not arguing that fact. AND they still had multiple opportunities to win the game with FTs/ layups/run an O instead of playing hero ball, or just stop a simple pick and roll coming out of a TO. Good teams/coaches still win games even when they get screwed. It’s not a binary discussion. NU got screwed, AND failed to cash in on multiple opportunities to win despite the god awful refs.

As soon as the Huskers got up 14 points and had momentum, the consistency of the officiating changed. Virtually nothing was called against NCST when Nebraska drove the lane (not that they called much prior to that) - and they did that a lot! It took until the 2nd or 3rd OT for Nebraska to even get into the bonus situation. Not sure I have ever seen that happen considering how much Nebraska took it to the hole and how aggressive their defense was the entire night.

Good teams don’t let nc ******** state gang around into a 4th OT lol this program has a reputation of shitting the bed in every sport except volleyball and bowling

I believe three fouls were called on NC St between us getting up 14 with 9.5 to play in regulation until 2OT, so that was 3 fouls in 15 minutes of game time. Meanwhile, it was a parade to the line for state.

Nebraska's offense IS in fact take it to the hole and dish to open guys for 3s if you can't get to the rim. It isn't hero ball and some of not being able to execute pick and roll offense against a team like NCS were the matchups they presented. Their athleticism and length were problems especially given the off night Briedenbach and Wilcher had from the perimeter. I do think Verge takes way too many bad shots but that's kind of his game and it appears that Fred thinks he has to roll with that.

I get it man you’re old and haven’t got anything but thinking you’re important on this website but you’re gonna drown in koolaid
we get it, man, you're a witless, dickless nobody who feels the need to run to the Husker board in search of back-pats from strangers.

OT call reversal on possession was absolute BS ! I truly think it changed the outcome of the game. Killed our momentum. Glad to see the team leave it all out on the floor. Better days to come imo.

Yep it was a hosejob. I get that Seabron was pretty much unstoppable but it would be nice to get the same calls on the other end. They make the simple and obvious call on Verge in regulation and we win the game.

What baffles me is why Doc or whoever is in charge of the defense doesn't tell Bryce to force Seabron to his left. I just watched in disbelief as he kept going to his right over and over with no adjustment. And the announcer mentioned it, but why are we allowing Seabron to get the ball uncontested? At least make the dude uncomfortable! He just sat back and gained a head of steam to go right over and over. Same damn shot every time. Force him to pass it at least! Big time defensive meltdown late in the game there.

Watched two minutes of the 4th OT and they look like the same Husker basketball I have seen for 45 years…
If thats all you watched with how tired they were then just stop commenting. They looked like a decent team earlier in the game.

3 ejections didn’t help
3 people didnt get ejected. Only 1 player that mattered (Mayan). The refs were so stupid they couldnt even get who was ejected correct. They said that Webster was ejected but he played in the 3rd and 4th OTs.

Why did it take until the 3rd and 4th OT for Webster to get back in the game?

That is a great question. He obviously wasn’t ejected as he was on the bench the whole time. I don’t think he plays enough but I might admit that Fred knows more than me. I just think ESPN screwed up who was ejected, they never listed Andre but he was definitely gone.

This is the negative of not having the announcers at the game.

I live and work in Raleigh and work with a ton of NC State guys. They admit the fix was in and it's funny because they all hate Teddy Valentine too.

Not sure of the answer, but it appeared Hoiberg was sticking with the "hot hand" for the entire game. Verge was playing pretty well at the time and I wonder if Hoiberg was going to just ride him out until he couldn't any longer.
