I think auto correct messed with your thread title. I’m pretty sure you meant to say… “Husker baseball players with the most to prove.”

But I still understood what you were trying to say. GBR

Only 2 BIG’s ranked in the top 25. UCLA #14 and Oregon #15.

I looked at the BIG standings and noticed Huskers are 16th out of 17 teams. I thought for a moment, aren’t there are 18 teams in the BIG? Then I remembered my Alma Mater hasn’t fielded a team since 1991.

Deficits in the early 90’s and Title 9 led to the death of the program.

Despite all the success of football with Alvarez and basketball programs which restored the financial health to the AD, the Badgers never brought back the sport = travesty.

The stadium was converted to women’s softball stadium.

Nice wins for Big Red vs #11 Oregon State!!!

it has been like 20+ years since NU was "good" at baseball, for like a 4 year window...Because they happened to hire an amazing coach at just the right time...

THEN NU moves to the Big Ten, the lamest of all baseball conferences, fans think they will dominate and in fact they have been pretty average.

It really makes what DVH did here even more amazing.

And follow that up with back-to-back losses to Creighton and UNO. Our utter futility in midweek games continues…
Yeah, can we get a coach here that makes it a priority to win against Creighton and Iowa.. oh, and now Omaha.

Omaha might as well start a new football program. Seems they'd be whopping our *** in no time.

This loss brings on a whole new level of disappointment with how our teams compete. Does anyone give a ****?

I was at the Indiana football game in 2016 . We tailgated with a guy that played Baseball at Indiana . He said Nebraska Baseball will take a huge hit by moving to the Big . We can’t load up on Texas kids anymore because we don’t play half out conference games in Texas anymore.Yes Dave VH did a great job. But the drop is do to our recruiting region . We have to Judy get lucky once in a while like last year.

if you can't throws strikes it's hard to win at any level. that is where we are right now, pitching is pathetic.

There seemed to be broader concerns at the time we joined the B10 that the baseball program had the most to lose due to geography, but before pinning all of the program's struggles on conference affiliation, it's important to note that like the football and basketball programs, the baseball program was on a downward trajectory when we joined the BG10. The team finished near the bottom of BG12 in Mike Andersons last 3 seasons before Erstad took over the first year in the BG10. I'm not saying that moving to the BG10 hasn't hurt the program overall, but it's not the sole reason the program has declined and certainly not an excuse for becoming the red-headed step child to Creighton and UNO.

Wrong. Plenty of good prospects besides Texas. Coaching matters

I was at the NU v UNO game and the practice looked uninspired. Players standing around and goofing off.

Bolt looked completely disinterested. No fire at all. Even when up 9-4.

Ya know what? Bolt needs to go. He had zero energy. He never fought for the team proper. NU deserves better. No energy, just ********

Need more seasoned JUCO pitching. If you prove you can throw strikes and get outs at a high level JUCO, you're miles ahead of some freshman or a transfer from another D1 that didn't have success or didn't play.
