Komine's 510 4 year career SO's are still to this day 5th best in NCAA history. I still remember the regional against Richmond when the Richmond batter shanked a hit off the mound that bounced up and broke Komine's jaw, and with that pain he still had the heads up to make the play at 1st for the out. Shane was one tough SOB.

Ken Harvey to this day in the Big XII still holds the highest BA in Big XII history hitting an absolutely insane .478 in 99

Matt Hopper to this day holds not only the all time Big XII HR record at 64, but also the conference record in Hits at 338, RBI's at 271 and total bases at 591. To think he hung up his glove after his Junior year due to shoulder and elbow injuries. Kinda impressive when you think about it as Texas was the proven beast during the time he played and stlll did all of that.

DONU also holds the largest margin of victory at 47 against Chicago St in 99 50-3, most runs 50, most hits in a game 35, most RBI's 48 and total bases 73

Nebraska didn't play Richmond. That was '02 supers. Shane pitched twice against them including a trademark Van Horn arm-killing relief appearance and managed to avoid any batted balls.

Butler.

Sorry it was Butler and was the Friday opener of the regionals in 2000 not 02 , and the batters name was Eddie Olszta.

Really enjoyed the broadcast by Nebraska Public Media today AND the win.

Who were the announcers for today's game?

Was Illinois projected to be any good
Their starter today was a top 150 prospect out of high school. He is really struggling so far in his early outings. I believe they also had a top 50 RPI going into the series.

Huskers take the opener at Michigan behind a 7+ inning gem from Olson and a HR from Matthews in extras. Mostly listened to the radio broadcast but it was fun catching the end on BTN to see the whiners go down.

I've never been to a game at USC, but UCLA's baseball facilities are nothing special. Aside from the Jackie Robinson statue, the stadium is kind of a dump.

Weather and strength-of-schedule will be a shocker, though. I'm sure neither baseball program is excited about the move.

11-3 final. Nicely done, Huskers.

Always nice to get a series win on the road, but especially when you can go into Ann Arbor and take one from the league's biggest blowhards.

The race is on between Matthews and Anderson.

Matthews’ home run in the second inning brought him to 10 blasts for the season. It’s the first time the Huskers have had two batters with double-digit home runs since 2010. Cody Asche and Adam Bailey hit 10 and 18 jacks respectively.

“Breezy (Matthews) has been putting amazing swings on the ball all year long and coming up in big spots,” Bolt said. “Obviously that was huge and then to be able to stretch the lead.”

As much as there is to say about Matthews, Anderson has been on an even crazies tear. The second baseman has slugged 10 homers in 13 games while Matthews has six in that span. This series alone the two combined to hit 9-for-26 (.346) with four home runs and six RBIs.
As it stands, Anderson is on pace for 20 homers and Matthews 18. It’s something Husker fans should appreciate while it last because both of these athletes are bound for the pros sooner than later.

What’s next for Nebraska baseball?

Nebraska returns to Lincoln on Tuesday for a rematch with UNO. The game, first in a five-game homestand, will be broadcast on the Huskers Radio Network and streamed on BTN+.
