Glad they're off to a good start. I need some kind of quality baseball to look forward to. Being a Pirates fan is depressing.

Wow. What a dick. Fire him ASAP.
I don't think so.

The player should have been tossed. Shut the **** up about calls, you know it won't change anything anyway.

I don't ump/ref because it sucks but if I did, before every game I would talk to the coaches and players and say this

"I promise I will not tell you what plays to call or how to play the game and you promise to not tell me how to ump/ref"

The first complain, is T or ejection...

I have coached like 3-4 different sports for over 20 years, I have never once had a ref/ump T me up, flag me, kick me out, nothing.

It isn't hard. Shut the **** up and go play.

Imagine the opposite, the batter swings at a pitch that is clearly a ball and the ump gets up in the batters face, laughing and mocking him "OH MY GOD, that was a ball, are you blind? How could you swing at that ****** pitch, you should not even be out here, what a loser"

Agreed terrible call and when a player makes an error should the ump make fun of him and show him up?

Yes or no?
If an ump can't maintain his professionalism in the face of a player who is arguing balls and strikes, he shouldn't be an ump.

And if a player can't act normal, he should be booted. Right?

Should an ump be allowed to make fun of a player that ***** up? Yes or no?

Players (kids) are chalk full of emotion/adrenaline

Umps are paid to be the literal exact opposite
So, let me ask AGAIN

Should, say, a 16 year old ump be able to get in the face of a 12 year old kid that made an error and make fun of him? Yes or no? (I think yes, it would be amazing!)

Kids should be disciplined as well for acting like douches.
Amen!

No ump/ref/official goes into a game saying "Man, I hope I **** up and really screw things today". They just don't.

By the way...in all my years of coaching, wrestling refs are the best.

With that said...the sports with no refs (Tennis, Golf, Bowling), shocking...they never have major issues!!!! Maybe because...those ******* kids are normal and don't spaz

In my opinion (which is right) the only sport with an issue is basketball when a team that is down fouls "intentionally" but for some reason it is not called.

Another controversial call that was perhaps influenced by the batter pissing off the ump:

After watching in slow motion many times I agree with Odo. Strike 3. Sorry - couldn't resist after seeing that video today. I'm a sci-fi nerd 🤣

The batter was TOTALLY wrong the pitch before when he showed up the ump. He should have been rung up right then. No questions and you all would not even be arguing about this later call. He was wrong. Next pitch the ump ended the game which was also wrong. I am not sure the batter ever learned a lesson here. He should have just called the ump a cock sucker the play before.

That's a dumb question and the answer is obviously no.

The ump would have been justified tossing the kid when he reacted the way he did to the previous bad strike call. When he didn't, he was obligated to be professional and call the next pitch legitimately. It was obvious he did not. He was rightly suspended.

Right, so the stupid kid ruined it all by acting like a freaking baby.

The whole situation was handled poorly by the kid and the ump. I’ve been to about a thousand baseball games the last 10 years, have seen countless kids acting like jackasses showing up an ump. I’ve seen it handled by umps again and again. Could be a lecture, could be an ejection. I’ve never seen one go full potato and react like this dipshit did. The kid needs to be punished and probably won’t be. The worst part about what the ump did is he made it about himself instead of keeping the focus on the kid’s behavior.
