Will someone please tell Will that they don't have to follow the leads of the football and men's basketball teams. I'm so tired of this ****!

Not sure why people thought we would have a good team this year. They lost their Friday starter their Saturday starter and 6 starting fielders. This had rebuilding year written all over it

I didn’t think we’d look this bad but I felt we were being severely overrated by our fans and media. We’ve been deprived of winning in men’s sports for so long that people got way too excited at a sniff of success.

Like you said, we lost a lot. I was hoping Bolt had instilled a winning culture that would mitigate the loss of those guys. That clearly hasn’t shown itself yet. I still feel good about the program though.

Even losing that much they should be winning against lessor teams on a routine basis. Its not like they are losing to really good D-1 top 25 teams. They are losing to shitheads.

Two weeks ago I said it was way too early to jump off a ledge about the baseball team. Well, I'm getting pretty concerned. They gotta figure something out with the offense, it's been terrible.

Comeback in the ninth? Omaha scored 2 in the top of the ninth to tie the score. Huskers score a run in the bottom of 9 to win. Good win but not exactly a big comeback by the Huskers!

a win is a win at this point. i get that anything can happy in these kinds of games but we need to start building some momentum before conference play begins- like in 2 weeks against Michigan

Kind of a non-sequitur, but speaking of offense how the hell did Nebraska baseball miss out on Nolan Sailors from Ralston? He's the best hitter I've ever seen play against my son's team, and he's already consistently hitting for Creighton as a freshman. Maybe we did recruit him hard and he wanted to go to Creighton.

And just like that they get a walkoff win, 6-5.
The FACT that they had to walkoff Omaha to salvage a series split says enough. They're struggling to say the least. They're playing a lot of young guys and it's possible that IF their confidence doesn't get destroyed at the plate that they'll get better as the season goes on but man.... I think the the thing that has surprised me is how much they've struggled at the plate.

I wonder how Nebraska missed out on Mike Boeve (UNO Soph.). Kid has a .407 avg right now, 1.308 OPS, .763 SLG%, & .545 OB%. Kid is raking this season.

Yep. I watched him play basketball his senior season at Hastings and he was built like a brick **** house.

Struggling now, but I see this team about 3/4 the way through the season getting better and making a strong finish. FWIW.

Sounds like Efry Cervantes tried to start a brawl with NMST by waving at the their dugout after his walkoff hit yesterday. I don't like it but maybe it's a sign of a pulse with this team.

I’m not necessarily a fan of the ‘unwritten rules’ but that one is pretty much a no-brainer. I wonder if there was anything said prior

Yeah, I'm not an unwritten rules guy either, but like you said there's emotion and then there's just stupid. Hey, Ivan Melendez from Texas flipped his bat halfway to the pitcher's mound after a homer last week and everyone thought it was cool, so I guess anything goes?

I was just thrilled to hear that Cervantes got a hit, walkoff or otherwise.

I was gonna say a guy hitting .200 for a sub .500 team ought to just run to first and not act like a fool, but maybe sounded a little to crotchety even for me. But that's kinda how I feel.

Maybe Cervantes got sidetracked because he wasn't sure where first base was.

Good glove, though. Hope he can swing enough of a bat this year that Bolt can utilize him. Last year was not pretty.

They intentionally walked a guy with a worse average to get to him. Not saying that makes it ok, but that just seems like the most likely reason he decided to show them up. Chick was more likely to strike out than homer again based on the book so far this year. Hopefully he gets it going.

Yeah, I figured there was a reason. Lame one at that.

The hitter in Chick's spot gets walked in that situation about 95 % of the time. Runners on second and third with less than two outs in a tie game. Does not matter who the next hitter is in most cases!

Except Anderson flew out to right to lead off and Caron struck out before Chick came up.

There were two outs you are correct. But we stole second base putting runners on Second and third when Chick came up. Still setting up force out anywhere for the third out. Still a normal baseball play!

They hung with Arkansas to refresh your memory.🙄

LOL -- epitome of a loser

" we didn't win a series in the tournament but hung with a team that didn't even make it to Omaha"

you guys are at the bottom of a conference that's RPI is below the American, Sun Belt, West Coast and Conf USA

it is sad that your athletic programs mirror the mind set of this "fan" quoted above

Oh hey, look, the latest mensa troll wants to wow us with his brilliance. Nice take, Arkansas sucked last year, huh? I mean, they were ranked #1 the last 8 weeks of the regular season, were the #1 overall seed in the tourney, had the NCAA player of the year, won the SEC, had the coach of the year and had 9 guys drafted. But yeah, they lost a super regional so they were terrible. I agree last year was last year and irrelevant, but since you brought it up...

LOL -- epitome of a moron. What team are you a "fan" of (not sure what the parentheses are for, but I thought I'd make fun of you by using them too)?

your entire athletic department and fanbase have completely transformed to the point of celebrating losses

we almost beat (insert name)

you are unable cite any recent successes or wins of significance ... just "almosts"

you retained a 3-9 coach who tied for last in the big ten west because of "almosts"

You don’t win a series in a 4 team baseball tournament. you’re eliminated by losing 2 games..

What 🚽did you jump out of Mr turd..
