the flipside of this is, if Drew was offered, I'm assuming he hasn't accepted yet or it would leak out pretty quick.

given that hasn't happened, maybe he isn't as locked in as Barnhart had hoped

Not even for the $. All UConn will do .... His wife loves the setup being close to their extended families and embraced by UConn before the winning. He's a fit there and have seen the Pitino comparison throw out but omitting Pitino saying "My biggest mistake was leaving UK"--i.e. leaving where you are the king of the sport on top.

Love to be wrong but

I think the same, but hope I'm wrong.

He said his wife didn't want to be far from Jersey. No qualifying that, either. Just a flat fact. Don't see him leaving there even for the money and UK being what it is in college basketball

They’ve had a bromance for years. Even if its not the case, it’s bad optics and gives off the impression of another half a$$ coaching search and hire. Youd have to really question how hard he went after anyone else.

Now, if he throws the kitchen sink at the top guys and can’t land one, then it is what it is.
Maybe he is throwing the sink at the top guy? Let him do his job

When did Mitch say that? He didn’t. However, there are better options (and seemingly he has offered one of them — a good sign). However, Andy Katz tweet suggests the two things I mentioned may be a factor in Mitch’s preference for Drew.

Again, I said if.
Maybe in the AD’s mind, Drew is the best option? Could be why he is the the AD and we are just fans with opinions

If he's the guy, I'll support him 100%. They tried to get the guys I liked ahead of him and they declined. Drew needs to embrace changing some things too. Use the resources to improve his current staff.
What would you suggest? Maybe he keeps the guy that got the fast pace and high scoring tempo and then gets a defensive guru.

Good lord Drew sucks as bad as Cal.
Looks like they lose 1st or 2nd rd of their conference and 2nd rd of NCAAT. Have lost 3 games in a row back to back years and double digit losses past 2 years. Should feel like home. Maybe a hair better. Yay

Get a GM to help recruiting/Portal management and think a stud recruiting Assistant is needed like when Drew had Jerome Tang.

KY is like a 1 hour flight from NJ.

not really... if he is happy
some don't care if it is 5 million of 11 million
I ain't one of them, but I hear they are out there
More than double your salary to take the most prestigious job in the country

If Alabama doubled Dabo’s salary you don’t think he’d be on the first flight?

I know it’s not credible and is probably falsified, but lots of people with more followers and reputation have been just as wrong 😂

I’m gonna make the most of it, personally. Fully support him. He was my 4th-5th option, but not the worst. Gonna let it play out
I'll take a great recruiter and great coach who at least makes deep runs in the tourney and 2021 national championship. It's obvious he knows how to get it done. I'll take it.
