Quarterback Hunter Johnson played his freshman year for Clemson football, Dabo Swinney and is back as a graduate student in a mentoring role.

More reminds me of basketball players that stay on a team beyond the point of earning any playing time before transitioning to coaching.

They're functionally in a transition to coaching.
Juwan Howard was an example of that.

Johnson's in the same boat. Good spot for him given how close he is to Dabo.

The OC for Clemson said HuJo throws as good a ball as I’ve seen.That’s probably why he was our starting QB last year.Unfortunately things didn’t work out for him at NU,but happy for him that he looks like he is in a good spot with Dabo.HuJo seemed like a good guy.Wish him all the best.

There is a lot more to playing QB than throwing a beautiful ball in shorts. Johnson’s football playing career is over. Hopefully this year at Clemson leads him to the next chapter in his life. I wish him well.

HuJo is getting a leg up on coaching.Dabo obviously likes him and wants him around the program.Great for the young man and hope whatever he decides to do works out for him.
