I can guarantee I've been around longer than you have; try about 50 years of watching UK basketball. Since you're such an expert tell me another 7 footer than was physically weaker than Humphries.

Shagari did have a few good games at UK. He was "deceptively slow" but did have some potential. Not sure what happened with his off the court issues but he seemed to be a good kid. I just think that Hump could've contributed more this season had he bulked up.

Cal did say we were losing 8 this year, so this would make since if he transferred.

LOL he's the only one I could think of that might be considered "weak"
and yes, I know he played for BYU :)[/QUOTE
OK, if we're talking overall there are a few that were physically weaker. Manute Bol comes to mind. We need a Sven Nater.

Close, but you do think he was physically weaker than Hump? He actually ran the floor and jumped well. He had played for the Polish National team prior to UK. As I recall, he was a bit more filled out than Hump.

Uh, Jules Camara, Jared Carter (No matter what size you think he was, he was weak), Cedric Jenkins (But you'd have to give him an inch), Shag for sure- he personified weak.), Let's see...is that enough?

Bad job by Humphries here. Not the time to be talking about your future plans or your disappointment in the season. Just simply decline to answer the question or say you'll answer those questions after the season. Disappointing to say the least.

Note to ALL, the question was name someone weaker than Hump. Hump is by no means "weak". You can use the word soft I may agree but you could then throw Woo into the mix too. He was a marshmellow on the court.

When you come into college bb as a 17 year old and you're soft there's a process to getting your body transformed. He came back leaner this year. Next year he will be able to put on the muscle if he works at it. It's not that simple to become chiseled at that age if you start with the body he had when he got here.

Agreed, at least I was saying muscle, he has enough body to add 30 pounds easy

Opinions vary...

Because I reject the premise. Ah, okay I'm a smartarse. Whatever, Humpries is not weak. Call him soft, yes smartarse or not.

Hope you're right because he does have the potential. If Nazr Muhammad can trim down 70 pounds or so Hump can bulk up with the right training.

I'm sick of these players that come here thinking they're better than they are and leave before being a Sr and able to help..Why would Humphries even think about leaving

I just wonder who these kids are listening to . I remember that Rod Rhodes' brother was always in his ear about turning pro but my guess is that it's mostly agents telling them they're better than what they really are.

Not sure I used the word "feel". I love it when your type posters start adding words to statements. Be gone... word adders are ignored. I don't deal with non-truth tellers (For those that don't like fact adders..)

It's gotta be family, and agents. But don't discount that for some stupid reason UK has a reputation among parents that if your kid doesn't go pro after one year, he is a failure young's parents cough cough.

That would be my guess as well. I've heard that sometimes families are worse than agents.

I will understand if he leaves because he's unhappy. I will be disappointed because it will only reaffirm that UK is only for 1-2 year players or walk-ons. If you can't find a way to consistently incorporate upper classmen, you'll have a hard time winning it all.

You do understand we have 3 seniors, 2 that are 4 year guys, contributing this year?

Please don't enter facts. (I know the one and done game Cal plays is hard on some UK players but they have to succeed or fail from that point. That is up to them and I am reasonably sure Cal told them that before he accepted their commitment.)

Going back through and reading some of what I missed, Woo was strong, he was what I'd call soft.(At least on the court.)

See what kind of false reaction articles like this create? Perfect example of exactly what type of reaction the "journalist" was hoping to incite, simply because it drives clicks and traffic.
And not just the journalists... how many hits is KSR getting?
