Congrats to the baseball team-anytime you beat Miami that's pretty, pretty good. Can anyone summarize the series, FLA trip and season so far?

Allowed a couple of big innings Fri and Sat night but pitching doesn’t seem bad. Not sure we have any real pop in the lineup from what I saw.

Looks like Miami isn’t ranked this year. Indiana, who we play next, looks to be only ranked team on the schedule

Always happier with a win but I wasn’t too worried with the first post on this game and I’m not overly excited now. I am happy though. You Should try to tighten your screw on your emotional pendulum. Kidding

They were #23 when we faced them - they update the rankings on Mondays. With the loss to us and wins by others they were dropped out of the top 25.

We also beat Miami last year on Sunday, but had a bad year. Miami also missed the postseason for the first time in 44 years last year so although this is a nice win, it certainly isn't great. Miami is probably middle of the road to bottom third in the ACC this year

It still has not been demolished, but I was told by someone semi high up that Rutgers will be getting parts of the Eagles Bears Stadium when it is torn down.Stadium is less than twenty years old.Camden Stadium is aslo being demolished. Not sure if we have put any requests for anything from that ballpark too.

I realize that, but Miami still had a down year last year and likely another this year with all of the youth they have in the lineup. If you watched that game you would've seen that RU was lucky to win as Miami had 3 errors in 1 inning that gave RU the game. A good win for RU for sure, but not great. Bullpen sure looks good this far

I’m not familiar with large scale demolitions that salvage portions of the structure.
Seats and lights maybe, but superstructure?
It’s usually dynamite and a guy having fun with a wrecking ball.
Great idea if true!

Zap,I was told that it would be things like scoreboards and lights, not the actual stadium. We really need to do something to replace our high school facility soon. I am sure you are familiar with College stadiums in the area including Montclair State,Rider, and Kean. They absolutely put our ehem ballpark to shame. No seats,a high school scoreboard,no lights,no concession stands,no TV or press facility, and a bathroom that has a couple stalls and looks like something at an old gas station.I have never been in the aRutgers dugouts, but I was told a while back that the benches are not heated and there are no ceiling heaters. It is pathetic. We are in the Big Ten

Listen we don’t need heated benches.... but...proper lights for late or evening games... concession stands...upgraded restroom facilities ...a P.A. System that actually works... chair back seating and press box would be nice...A locker room facility adjacent to the field with the pretty things would squeal first class ...might help sell it... as in football you need a QB ... an O line...Defense... Basketball you start with a solid PG and guards in general... you can win with guards and a couple of BIGS who can board and score...In baseball you need Top pitching...solid defense... a solid catcher with an arm... speed...timely hitting...you also need that head man who knows the game...has charisma and is respected by high school coaches ...the theme is redundant...that changes a losing program into winner.

Definitely have a big time defense catcher committed, if he doesn’t go to high in the MLB draft

No heated benches? How are they supposed to get along?

I would prefer a coach who ignites a fire under the butts of his players ...my deceased grandmother used to like heated seats... winning warms the heart and that is what Rutgers needs in ALL sports.

As I said elsewhere: Miami's 1-2-3 can ALL be !'s on 75% of the teams in the nation. Hopefully we see more "pop" as the season moves along.

Is Harris playing well?
No. Watched a couple of at bats. Still trying to jack it out, instead of altering his swing & hitting the ball to take advantage of his speed. Believe he struck out 3 times yesterday & 2 the day before. Don't know what he did on Fri.

His season stats say total if 3 K’s in the 3 games so bit of an exaggeration here.

You're right. Went back & checked. 3 k's on Sun. None in other two games. Thought I heard the announcers say 2 on Sat. Obviously misheard. He has 1 hit in 10 ab's.

One of the things scouts figure out quickly is quality AB’s vs quality pitching.
He’s 1-10, unless you’re there you have no idea if he’s hitting the ball hard or not.
A walk is a double for him, we need to see how he’s working the count as well

Rutgers hit a home run with the new staff additions.
Hobbs went to his Seton Hall roots when he hired these coaches.
Phil Cundari is one of the top pitching coaches in the country.
Jim Duffy is an exceptional teacher of the game.
Pete Barron was sought after by numerous top programs as a player development director.
Give this staff 2 years and they will be one of the top programs in the B1G.

Yes a walk is a double, so is a single. That's why he's got to cut down on strikeouts & hit the ball.
