Has anyone heard more about this? I saw a tweet from Stu Popisil of OWH stating HTRS forfeited, leaving Yutan without a homecoming game. I can't believe a C-2 school has that low of numbers

Max Preps has their roster size at 24. 15 of them are underclassmen (10 FR 5 SO).

I understand that Max Preps is not always 100%, but it is usually a good baseline.

I feel for the SRs from HTRS and the Yutan squad. The last thing that they need is a week off. Yutan has themselves a good team.. a game to put things together before Elmwood would have helped.

I see that Omaha Brownell Talbot is still on Yutan's schedule (from NsaaHome.org). I am assuming that this just JV only???

OBT is playing a JV 8 man schedule with OCA I do believe, that's two forfeits on the schedule for Yutan.

So Yutan could make the playoffs going 4-3 essentially? Thats sketchy. Not saying it is Yutan's fault, but that isn't right

Stinks for the kids from Yutan. Only getting to play 7 of the 9 varsity games on their schedule has to be a punch to the gut, especially for the seniors on their team.

Didn't we have any issue a year or two ago with someone missing the playoffs because they had a team forfeit on their schedule and they had to accept the forfeit and take on the lower power points as opposed to it just not being a game and their average staying up? Am I crazy and making that up? What's the deal with those situations now?

I remember that. The deal was Stanton was 7-2 and missed the playoffs. The last game of the regular season was against Laurel-Concord, who forfeited. It had no bearing on Stanton's power points (they got 41 regardless of whether it was a forfeit win or a played out win). The unfortunate thing to me was that those kids from Stanton didn't even get a chance to finish their career...they just got robbed of their last game and then missed the playoffs (along with Arcadia Loup City, both at 7-2).

That was the situation I remember. I just thought there was an argument that they shouldn't have had to count the game at all since Laurel didn't even have a team that year, did they? Didn't they forfeit the whole season? So their PP dropped because they had to be 7-2 with a forfeit for a win as opposed to 8-1 with a higher average without the points from the forfeit. Did they NSAA fix this potential problem? If I was in that situation I'd be politickin' my butt off that I shouldn't have to count the forfeit as a win when they didn't even have a team that year, and the schedule is officially set by the NSAA. A potential playoff team shouldn't be penalized for some other school failing to field a team.
