I will be following the Carolina Coast Conference (formerly Mid Eastern). This is a 7A/8A conference.

Based on returning players, I think the top 2 teams will be New Hanover 7A and Laney 8A.

New Hanover returns a lot of experience and has 3 solid pitchers. As long as they can score a few runs they should do well.

Laney, last year’s 4A runner up, lost its main guy but has a lot of pieces returning too.

West Forsyth will be playing Laney, New Hanover and South Brunswick in mid March. I hope to attend.

I am sure as usual West Forsyth will be a factor and a good bet to make a deep play off run. They are a well oiled machine in Clemmons. They aren't winning state titles every season. But always seem to get at least 2-3 rounds deep into the playoffs.

Great opening week event. Mother Nature didn't help but I believe these 6 schools will do it again in 2027 with the site in the Triad area!

Not a bad drive for any of the 3 teams to Kannapolis, nice facility. I bet they put on a good time at minor league games. I would love to see it in the triad area. Maybe Dash stadium or even HP, but would be a shame for 3 Forsyth teams to leave the county though.
