What is HPH? Forgive me if it has gone way over my head but I see it referenced now and then. Is it the Scout or ESPN site?

It's been around for ages. May be the first husker "site" people use to post on. I use to post on huskerpedia way way back in the day and I remember people use to talk about how the fans on HPH were the "true insiders". I think it's gone way down since. I know many talk bad about it now and supposedly the biggest doom and gloom bosters are on HPH

It's a board run by a very anti-program lawyer in North Texas. They masquerade as Husker fans but openly root for the program to fail. Really classy crew.

Wasn't the first site "Huskers" posted on, it was by some former members from several sites including one's who posted on this site and Huskers Illustrated before their split. Who couldn't get along with others, because of numerous issues, mainly disagreed with site management, had difference of opinions and pushed their agenda, whether it was good or bad. Once their integrity was questioned, believe most move over to HPH to petal their wares without any obstruction or threatens to their egos.

There are maybe 15-20 posters on that site tops. Is a wasteland of what is used to be. They are all Bo-lievers and hate Eichorst with a passion. Not worth your time to visit.

A few visit here regularly and think we don`t know. ;)

I miss GAHusker and his take on things.... H3 and SarasotaHusker (Gary) were entertaining if nothing else with their pravado. They were on Red Sea during the Roz era, I was a premium member for almost a decade in the early days.

GAHusker pretended to be an insider. I remember him posting early on that Bill Callahan would be cutting scholarship players from the team. I knew that BC had told the players that he wouldn't do that and disagreed with GA. Well, that was a no-no. Boy did that stir up a hornet's nest on RSS that day. I don't miss hearing from GA for that reason. At the time, I had pretty good access to some of the goings on so I could tell that he was a blowhard.

Side note: I was never a BC fan, but Bill was true to his word and didn't cut any scholarship kids that I am aware of. He may have over conditioned a bit to dwindle down the walk-on count but that was about it.

wow. Talk about a blast from the past. Back from your self imposed exile of what year? Good to see you post in the twilight zone again.

Redfanusa has been around since the beginning and can give a pretty good history of how it all began. Guys like Mike Frank, roz, and skaught really got the ball rolling before the big split. Tough tony was involved too but I think he was kind of on his own as far as message boards went.

I remember roz, tony davis came later, and cheated folks on football tickets...I remember before huskerpedia, there was just gina links and the husker mailing list...then you had other boards like austin 360, then gator chat, then net buffs, the misery tiger board.

I got on board around 2000 right about the time huskerpedia emerged. Posted a little bit then left for a couple of years. When I tried to get back, the board I knew of was gone and found the ez-board that skaught and Steveryan started, which eventually became affiliated with insiders. I had no idea what happened until Redfanusa explained the evolution of the boards, but that's like 16 years ago so I can't really remember it all, but I'm pretty sure toughtony had a newsletter that eventually became HPH with some guys from Texas. It was subscription only to post or read there and never took that jump. I kind of remember around 2006 that there was some kind of agreement or something between hph and the insiders board where a bunch of their posters migrated over, right around the same time that Bryanmunson signed on with steve. There's a lot of history in these boards and I still dont totally know what happened with huskerpedia or how the other "huskerboard" came into being. It doesnt help when people change names as they migrate from one board to another.

I got online in 95 spent some years on the sooner board (that was a great time, lol) there used to be a way to mess with boards with html language, like I could send all the texas fans to a sooner board when they logged onto the texas board. or I could send all the gators fans to a webpage showing herbie husker kick a gator thru a feildgoal...huskerpedia turned into the bigredmax board.I still have 2 huskerpedia t-shirts,lol...
one time smitty who owns net buffs, had my companies internet shut down till I promised not to go on net buffs anymore...lol

I don't miss the dial up days though..

Wow, I didnt know the boards went back as far as 95. I guess I thought the origin was Austin360 around 1998. I have a vague recollection of Smitty but dont remember his M.O. correct me if I'm wrong but wasnt MikeFrank a NotreDame fan that was a co-owner of the first husker boards?

I don't remember the name mike frank (but I don't have the greatest memory) maybe he had something to do with...big red max & huskerpedia, then there was some legal stuff... 1998 might be right for austin 360...I didn't mean it started in 95, I was just mentioning old boards...
smitty the lawyer who owns net bluffs was caught in colorado's offices looking at files of the players, for info to put on his message board and he got banned from cu..lol..
oklahoma's board was around in 95-96, deke the guy who worked at 0u's weather school ran it...one time he banned my ip, and it knocked off 1/4 of his board members on at&t dial up so he didn't ban me long.

I wasn't crass or vulgar, I just guess they got tired of me posting sears trophies a lot..

There are one or two insider boards still with some people that work in the AD or with friends/family there that post regularly, but they are invite only, you can't just register. There are occasional posts from some surprising people on the husker subreddit too, but you'd never know who they are.
