Lots of criticism about Cal's signing players that are basically one-n-done. I would go after the highest ranked players--as Cal does, and if they decide that they are NBA ready, let them go. You can't win constantly with 3* and 4* players, and the 5*s are the NBA future players. You have to go after those 5*s to be in contention yr after yr.IMO. UCLA is getting 4*s and look where that has taken them.

Go for the high ranks and let the chips fall where they lay. We are UK, and we value the top players, as they seem to make the highest and best teams o.a.

it’s not a lot of criticism, it’s a few disgruntled saps with a pathetic amount of knowledge. Like flies, they band together and make for a lot of buzzing. Collectively, they are the CLOD.

I'd do it like Cal has done. He puts us in contention each year. Imagine having to hope that the 3 or 4 star recruits you recruiting pan out and you can hopefully make a final 4?

Obviously a healthy mix of freshman 5 stars and experience is ideal but at 18 really trying to sit the bench for a couple seasons? NO ONE. Its a catch 22 which is why Cal needs multiple top 10 dudes to get this ish done.

There is some criticism about the one and done rule, there isn't any critcism of Cal recruiting those players.

Me, I’d have a lab and build ‘em myself from cloned parts grown in vats from stolen hairbrushes. Every player would have Ulis’s brain, John Wall’s speed, Boogie’s size and strength, AD’s reach and hops and timing, and Kate Hudson’s tits. And I’d recruit over every $%&@ing one of ‘em.

That’s the only sensible way to do it these days.

It’s impossible to knock his success.
If there is a gripe, it’s that some don’t like the turnover. But that’s just a matter of preference.

I would do exactly what he’s doing right now. My only difference is that I would try and get some 3 star guys that are only good at shooting 3s. That’s it. It would give us some mature reliable offense in the spring.

This is a great point that people forget. One and done is a product of the NBA and the players union. Cal just gets the best available. I guess you could criticize him for getting four stars and improving them so much they go in the first round.

Cal has t down perfect right now. Go after the top guys and sign some 4 stars with potential. It started with SGA. Most thought he would be here for a few years at least then the same with Herro. Now we have returned 4 this year and all of them are 5-star guys. He also brought in a top-class to mesh with them and added another grad transfer for a little added experience. It seems Cal has a formula now that could be very beneficial for his next tour. We should return at least 3 next year maybe 4 and I can't imagine us not landing the #1 class so I like how Cal is doing things right now. If he lands the class he is after for 2020 experience while still important might not matter as much if it's just so much overwhelming talent. But Cal has also signed Ware and Fletcher to that group who should be here for a few years at least.

Cal seems to have it dialed it perfectly. Maybe add at least one grad transfer each year with a couple 4 stars and then every stud we can get.

Maybe I'm too pessimistic, but I feel that contention means getting to the Final Four. Very good is making the Elite Eight.

Well I read on an IU board once " you sound like a UK fan in recruiting" Is that a bad thing? I mean look at their last 10 years compared to UK's.
