Iseman’s #1 and #2 seemingly conflict. If Geo goes back on the ball, and Paul starts, Paul plays off the ball? Makes no sense. I agree with Paul starting, even if it’s one game to reward the effort. But if he starts, he gets the ball.

I think our offense has looked best when Young penetrates. I don’t see how putting the ball in Geo’s hands instead will improve our production. In particular, when the clock is down to say 12 or 13 seconds Geo has a tendency to stop the offense and go one on one. This year that’s not working for him. We need more penetration and more ball movement. Right now Geo would bring less of both.

Definitely start Paul though. We need to have good energy right from the tap.

except #2 when the ball goes in Paul's hands it stands still minimum of 5 seconds and sometimes up to 10 seconds so while it was said maybe start him OK but we cannot have the ball stall on offense

How about start by making layups and foul shots? That quite literally has been the difference in at least 4 of RU’s losses. A simple execution of some fundamentals would have made all the difference this year.

How to jolt them? Stop coddling them and challenge them. Call them out and tell them theyre being babies and frankly are a bunch of pussies. Challenge them. Make them want to prove you wrong
this is possibly the cause, and breaking point, if things continue to go southbound, that will cost Pike his job. Hess too nice of a guy. That dont work in Big Boy Power 5 Bball.

What to do with Paul is kind of tricky. He's neither a slasher/finisher nor a shooter. Do you put the ball in his hands and ask him to orchestrate the offense, serve as the quarterback? If he's not doing that, what value does he bring? You don't want him on the wing, and while at 6'7" he's a decent rebounder, I don't see that as a good role for him given his skills.

This team has to come out with it's hair on fire. Play like mad dogs on D & on the boards. The O will come off of that. Good quick ball movement & quick movement off the ball. Far less individual play, ie Youngs crazy drives to the basket[good drives fine, same with Mathis], & poor decision shots. Don't care who delivers that message. Better if it comes from a player, if we have one of those leaders. They need a boot up their asses & to get their heads out of their asses.

I like the 3 points. I do Agree having Geo run the point would be better in general. Regardless we end up with the weave anyway but this is just a way to give the ball more to him to find a rythm. I feel like you can have a starting 5 of Geo, Mulcahy, Harper, Mathis, and Cliff.

Then you sub in Young/Myles for Mulcahy/Mathis and Cliff for the spark or you leave in Cliff and go bigger for awhile

I then limit my rotation to only bringing in McConnell to give the guards some breathers and then play hot hands.

None of what's here has any relevance for the Indiana matchup....you can start Paul, but someone has to chase around the 3 smaller guards that Indiana likes to play.....Durham, Franklin and Phinisee for Indiana, all 3 guards are very determined defensive players (they shut out Iowa guard Jordan Bohanon on Thursday night).

Paul is taller and can get space if he is aggressive and attacking towards the paint to drive and dish, but I don't see this particular matchup as ideal. I would focus on making sure we give help to Myles and Cliff on Jackson-Davis and keep them off the glass.

They don't have anyone IMO to matchup with Harper, if Harper can hit shots early, Indiana will come back down to earth after beating Iowa. I think this game is in the mid to high 60s for both teams and neither shoots FTs well.

Paul's been more "dribble first" than "pass first" lately, and I think that sometimes is more of a negative than his hustle is a positive.

For Rutgers the supposed easy shots have been the hardest to make .Rutgers has a small margin for error and failure to score at least 65 points is a major reason for the five game losing streak.Opponents have reviewed tapes and know how to defend Rutgers drives to the basket and aren't worried about the 3 point shooting.
