And why we got waxed....

Duke's three freshmen play VERY aggressively. How do you counteract that? By taking a page out of their own playbook from years gone by. You take charges. Suddenly the most athletic player in the country is playing tentatively because he doesn't want to sit on the bench.

ACC teams play this way. Virginia will beat Duke at least once. UNC probably, too.

Take away both Zion and RJs left, force them both right and take your chances. They beat us left time and time again last night. It was embarrassing.

You play belly up on defense. You don't let them stand uncontested and shoot three's,like we did. If they put the ball on the floor you rotate and if possible take a charge.

Get in Zion & rj’s head somehow...no easy shots. Hope they don’t hit threes. Hope the refs don’t call fouls when they run in and throw it up. Run a consistent offense.

You attack Zion and get him in foul trouble . You collapse on Barrett in lane of double team - he doesn't seem to show interest in passing

Zion looks to be un-guardable. Basically, he's like a pro-bowl level NFL defensive end flying up and down the court.

All three will get the Jordan rules all year - it's part of the narrative. Good luck drawing a charge - it'll be called a block every time, and you'll get to see all the and 1s on sportscenter.

I thought the game changed when Hagans got the early foul 90 feet from the basket. From that point on our guards played scared. All we did was jack up bad shots and play ole defense because we were intimidated.

Zion went right like 3 times and it ended up being a dunk or easy lay in all 3 times. Barrett is more left hand dominant but Zion can go left or right.

Yep. Zion started left on one possession, Travis bit on it, Zion changed direction and finished with a tomahawk right handed dunk.

That was crazy, I couldn't believe a guy that big made a move that quick, took one dribble right and it was over.

I have a friend who is a lifelong UNC fan. He swears they will split and that Duke will lose in the second round because Zion will foul out and Duke won't hit it's outside shots.

Okay, you get Z in foul trouble. You still haven’t accounted for the best player in the nation RJ Barrett, or the 6’8” dead eye shooter Cam Reddish.

I would hope that those guys dont perform without the rock in the post . And the supporting cast doesnt play like Scottie Pippen elevating Jordan . like those douche bags did last night.

yeah barrett and williamson are too quick with their first move to do that. you either have to have awesome help defense or zone and let the second level step in front. you force them to be playmakers and hold your breath. if you play wide open they will score 100. i think people will be surprised in their effectiveness against a diliberate style. they will still win, but it won’t be by 30 points.

UK has no one who can guard and keep in front of Zion, Reddish and Barrett. Foul trouble is the only way you are going to beat Duke. And that can happen.

Guess you missed the “take your chances part”. Yep he went right a few times and was successful but I will take my chances taking away his left then giving him a straight line drive with his dominant hand all the way to the goal. Bottom line we didn’t defend at all last night. We were a bunch of lazy el matadors and we aren’t going to stop anyone playing that way.

There's not a player in the country that can hold RJ Barrett under 25 points if the kid is locked in to the game.

That's why Duke will likely win it all.
