How realistic is this to happen?..

He's apparently started telling coaches he wants to play exclusively on the wing. So he no longer views himself as a stretch 4 (which is what he ought to play in college IMO.) He wants to play the 3 spot (a position I don't think he can defend.)

So I'm no longer that invested in where he ends up. If a coach promises him the SF spot to land him, that Coach will have some major defensive headaches to deal with next year. I think you almost have to play zone defense to get by with Matt Hurt as your SF.
WTF..? He is the perfect stretch 4... that’s exactly how we would need him to play in order to be successful. I agree, I think he will have trouble guarding the 3 as well. That’s a bummer.

Just think in 2030, we could have AD's son playing power forward, Shaq's grandson playing center, Jordon's grandson playing guard. And Cal still coaching. Look out!

All I will say is Hagans to the draft at this point is laughable. Even with how he has shot both Herro and Quick are more likely to go pro then Hagans. But we all know things can change between now and the end of the season.

I’d like to know how you got it free. I’ve read this board for a long time but was never able to post until I joined rivals. That was around $100 for a year. Did I miss something?
You got sucked in.......this site is free....if you want the (sic)insider info you pay what ever they charge for a year.......I find this side more than sufficient for information.........if it is crazy good info it will be everywhere within 24 hrs......I guess it is all according to how patient you are.....

All i will say is this. We can NOT continue to lose guys who wouldn’t be bolting had they played for any other team.

Cal isn’t getting the top 1-3/5 guys now. That’s fine. He’s still an ace recruiter and we get studs... but we can’t lose Herro, Hagans, IQ, PJ and EJ etc and expect to field even a remote contender next year.

I believe Cal knows this though. He is The Godfather of this entire movement. He will adapt and he will succeed

This is the correct answer

First off, let me say that I feel really confident about the game Saturday against UNC. Idk why, but for some reason I feel as if this team is about to come together and this will be the coming out party so to speak. However, there is only 1 pro on this team that will stick in the NBA and that’s KJ. Now I know that we will have more declare and we will have more than just KJ leave *cough PJ cough*, but to the people thinking the sky is falling because of our recruiting misses, our biggest recruiting targets are on this current team!!! If things will go to this plan, next year has the chance to be significantly better than this year. To all the people more in the know than me, how would you you guys feel if this scenario happened AND what are the chances that it could happen?

1. Cal land Hurt and McDaniels to go with our current class and N’Faly reclassifies.
2. UK loses PJ, KJ, Travis, and Hagans to draft
3. UK returns Quickley, Herro, Baker, Richards, and Montgomery to go along with incoming recruits.

Rotation:
PG: Maxey/Quickley
SG: Herro/ Whitney/Baker
SF: McDaniels/ Whitney/ Allen
PF: Montgomery/ Hurt
C: Richards/ Montgomery/ N’Faly

That is a team that consists of 4 of the top 10 for next years recruiting class and a rotation of 10 McDAA. That would be one of the deepest teams we’ve had 1-10!! Put that product on the court and get out of the way.

Now, our biggest recruiting battles will be getting Montgomery and Richards return to go along with Hurt and McDaniels. We can afford to lose one of Herro/Quickley and still be fine. What is the probability that we will land Hurt and McDaniels and can we convince Montgomery and Richards to return?
After the early enthusiasim wore off with the top recuits going to our rivals, I try not to get excited. We will be in desperate need of impact big men with few if any left.

Kinda what I'm hoping for too but a little different. Hopefully add another top guard.

Quickly/Maxey/ Hampton or Green reclass.
Herro/Maxey/Baker
Whitney/McDaniel
McDaniel/Whitney/EJ
EJ/ Dante

It's all guessing at this point. May get Hurt possibly too.
I want NO part of another year of Richards.

I think this could be a fairly realistic expectation, except I not sure we will get Hampton or Green with Quickley and Herro back. Now if one of Herro or Quickley leaves, then another guard is possible. If we signed Hampton or Green as reclasses, I have to think one of our veteran guards bolts. It would be too crowded in the backcourt with one of those guys and Maxey coming in.

Starters

G Maxey
G Herro
F Whitney
F McDaniels
F Montgomery

Bench

G Quickley- first guard off the bench.
F Dante- first big off the bench.
G Baker
G Allen

So you actually think UK will recruit Dante out of Selfs own back yard?

#1 No way Herro returns; #2 Whitney isn't coming off the bench

Id say 0.001% that happens..Not getting Hurt and McDaniels..I doubt we get either one..
