Nebraska has never had the best fans. It's easy to support the team when they have the greatest 40 year run in college football.
If Nebraska continues to suck, then the stadium will start to empty out. That's just the nature of fans. It isn't fun to watch the team get killed every week. Fans will do other things, rather than lose their entire Saturday (and hundreds of dollars) in the stands.

Who would have thought that we would be losing any of our fan base in year two? Well, I am at the game and surrounded by fans...We are.
I just got done saying I don't know how much more I can take. My son will be 19 in November and Nebraska hasn't won a conference title in his lifetime. I don't expect national titles every year, but I expect to see a relevant team who can compete in the top 20.

The question is whether it's going to happen at all. We have loyal fans much more so than that what has been put on the field in quite sometime
Been a fan my whole life. Had family play for the team, family on the Board of Regents, my uncles name is on one of the practice facilities.

I'm good at my job, unlike everybody remotely associated with Nebraska football the last 21 years.
Stupid is believing these buddy hires are ever going to get Nebraska back to elite status. Solich, Pelini, Frost...it's like Nebraska doesn't actually want to win.
Well, the truth is this is just no fun anymore. Football is just a game, an entertainment. So when it stops being fun and entertaining then to hell with it.

That is BS of course we need the fans. These fans have supported this program much more than what the program has produced. Maybe it's better for these guys if the stands are not full
The way OSU recruits, every now and then they’ll have a team that can win a natty. Some years, they sputter. However they’ve had top 10 classes since the early 2000s every year. This year they got the #1 player to play QB in a system he fits in from transfer. This may be their year. They have every play call at their disposal.
Nebraska needs more of these embarrassments. They need perspective.

to be fair I was good friends with an Aubutn fan in 2003 and thats how he felt then.... We will never be much better than Auburn but thats about the level I hope for.
No, Frost isn’t a buddy hire. Really good teams wanted him. But we have a culture of losing. Frost magic isn’t strong enough to fix anything here.

Nebraska hasn’t played for much of anything the last 17 years. And yet the fans still show up, home and away.

I have one old husker shirt, and one old husker hat left in service.. and boy do they look worn.. oh yeah, some rubber floor matts that still look great after 20 years. But I haven't bought crap for maybe 6-7 years.. i don't see myself buying anything in the near future.
In some ways, it's like, if the program is going to be a joke, then I might as well make it a joke too.. it's easier to hate on it and laugh these days, and I hate to say that, but it is.. it's a freaking joke. And that sucks for those student athletes, because they deserve better, but their coaches are not putting them in the best position to be successful.
There is very little leadership on the team, and that starts with the guy at the top who likes to talk crap, but can't back it up. That is what losers do.

If I have a friend who gets blackout drunk and embarrasses him and myself each time we go out, I'm not obligated to continue to like those endeavors, or believe "it'll get better, just need to focus on being sober". A good friend would stick around and do his best to help the friend, but if over a decade of trying showed no progress, you'd lose the energy to continue. Doesn't mean you'd hate the guy, but it gets exhausting.

It's fleeting moments of reprieve when they squeak out against obscure directional schools, then on to the next heart attack/drubbing the next week. I'm not even mad at Nebraska Football, but i'm losing interest because try as I might, I don't enjoy watching anymore.

We say this every year. And then all offseason all we hear is how it’s been the best SnC offseason of all time and how the freshman/juco players look great. We buy into it and our pumped.
