Does it matter? the only 2 players capable of taking us to a title next year are going pro in Ulis and Murray.
Dumbest thing said in a while . Fox is maybe the best hs pg in 3 years and Monk is insane. Bam and Gabriel are lotto picks and SKJ aint no slouch although he will need 2 years to be a pro.

Lee, SKal , Ulis and Murray are gone . Poy graduates.

you do realize i was talking about returning players... not incoming freshmen right? This was about how many declare for the draft. Of course our guys coming in , Fox, Monk, Gabriel, Bam (hopefully Bolden) and SKJ are going to kick azz and take names.

I have no clue but I'm thinking it will be a mass exodus like usual
Polythress, Murray, Lee, Skal, Briscoe, Ulis
Also maybe a transfer or 2
Just my guess
Lee, Skal, & Briscoe won't stand a prayer in the NBA at this point.

Ulis and Murray leave because its their time. Skal needs to leave as well, don't know why he started these last few games but I think it hurt us. Lee is what he is, don't expect his "game" to be any different next year from what its always been. If he wanted to transfer that would be fine with me, but I don't expect him to. Between staying here and entering draft I would say go and take a chance. At the least he could maybe play overseas. Briscoe seems to be coming around in his shooting so Maybe he will be back. If he is pencil him in as a starter as he started every game he was available this year, when he was lacking offensively. Poythress is gone, drafted or not. Doesn't seem excited about the game really, and thats OK, he has gotten his education! Humphries has the ability to be a beast if he can develop his offensive game. Wynward must be a really good player, good enough that Cal didn't want to throw him in and waste a year eligibility wise. Plus Skal couldn't stand any more competition.Matthews has potential and Mulder? Who knows. I have been as high on Willis as anybody this year and I think we were at our best when he started, but he really disappointed me on defense. Several times today he just stepped aside to let Kansas players get to the goal. Great upside but show some damn toughness on defense or expect to be Cals whipping boy again, deserved or not. It wasn't just him, they all looked awful defensively today.

Forgot about Dom, he is a very capable guard in all phases of the game, but on a really good team is going to be a back-up. Won't hurt us if he has to start. Should provide great senior leadership.

It will be hard to win another Championship when we only keep players for one year. We're pushing players out the door who aren't ready, and I think that will be the case with Skal and Briscoe, this year.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!
Cal had one player that he thought was coming back and most say it was Dakari. Ironically a back to the basket scorer like him would of took us from pretty good to maybe the best. This was one of the worst back to your basket teams that I can ever remember. I actually think that a few leaving last year made us a better team at some positions. We just ended up losing the one guy that may have had the most to gain by coming back.

Skal will be great if he spends an off-season under Cal, but I think he goes
Ulis goes
Murray goes.
Poythress graduates/has to go.

Briscoe and Lee are back. Briscore's shot looked better at the end of the year.
Willis get get his chances
Hawkins played amazing tonight. His energy and defense will get him on the floor next year.

Hope the new kids are ready to bring it.

Hate to be insensitive, but right now I could not care less about the NBA Draft and losing guys.

However, I think Willis, Lee, Briscoe, Mulder, Wynyard, Hawkins and Humphries all return. Briscoe will devote himself over the summer and Cal turns over the team to him.

Other predictions: At least one player transfers and Bolden goes somewhere else. Cal may have to platoon again.

I agree with Zagoria on this one, I think only three declare, and honestly wouldn't be surprised if Skal returns as well, regardless of what his handlers tell him.

Briscoe has been underrated all year long, and I really liked him as a player. His shooting was atrocious, but he had fantastic defense, great driving ability, and a jump shot that he grew more and more confident in as the year progressed. He is exactly what next year's team would need, a "glue" guy, a player that has gone through a year and experienced an awful tournament loss. He has a chip on his shoulder that I think would benefit for the freshman coming in. His shooting can only improve from here. I want him back for sure.

Willis will be a major player next year, and I really hope he doesn't transfer out before he lets that happen. He'll be a veteran leader with knockdown three point ability, good rebounding, and developing defense. I think he has the potential for a huge year, and I hope he stays with us to make it happen.

Matthews is a guy that I feel can develop this offseason into a major player next year. He reminds me of an MKG type player, but just hasn't found that same scoring ability yet. Everyone says he's like Liggins, but I think that's selling him short. Matthews will be a fantastic player when his shot develops and he learns to dribble effectively. Hopefully next year is the year.

I hope Lee returns, but I'm 50/50 with him. He just hasn't progressed much in his time at UK, and I'm afraid he might transfer out or go pro to just move on to avoid being stuck in the bottom of the rotation. We found out the hard way that we didn't have enough big bodies this year, so I don't want to hear the "we're stacked, we don't need him back" narrative. Skal, Poythress, Lee, and Humphries were supposed to be a dominant group this year, and look where that got us. I don't want to be stuck again wishing for that "one guy" that could put us over the edge. With our luck, it'd be a shot blocking, alley oop catching big man we need alongside Bam next year, and Lee would be long gone to fit that mold. Everyone wanted Dakari gone last offseason due to his lack of progression and production, but imagine him on this year's team. We'd be still playing. Lee returning would be nothing but beneficial.

Skal will likely go, but I thought the Harrison Twins would leave after their first year, and they returned to raise their draft stock. Skal may decide to do the same thing. He was about as worthless as you can be the majority of the year, and I think that alone could make him want to return to raise his stock. He has shady handlers that want to make a profit off of him, so they'll likely push him out, but I'm hoping he has the nerve to return next year. Man, I can't even imagine this kid with another year in the weight room, practicing, getting stronger, and tweaking his game. His mid range shot is a thing of beauty, and his post hook looked great late in the year, but if he had a couple go-to post moves with a defender on him, he'd be a top 5 pick next year. So much potential out of him, but he's just not ready to show it. I hope he doesn't get shoved into the NBA carousel, and makes an early exit out of the league because he wasn't ready yet. It'd be such a waste of potential. Similar to James Young in the league right now. So raw, D league regular, and not finding his groove. Wouldn't be surprised if he starts getting tossed around from team to team here in the next year or two. Would be a shame if it happened to Skal.

Humphries, Mulder, and Wynyard will be nice role players next year, but probably nothing more. All three are super talented, and wouldn't be the least shocked to see one of them have a "Willis" year, where production and PT developed as the year progressed, but we'll assume minimal playing time for now, especially if Marques Bolden comes.

Poythress is obviously gone, and I thank him for his four years here. Two final fours, several SC Top Ten dunks, and a heart for the game few have. I hope he finds a good spot in the NBA and thrives.

Ulis and Murray are absolutely, positively gone. No other way to put it. They are the best back court we've seen at UK possibly ever, and the NBA will be lucky to have them.

Next year:
Fox
Monk
Briscoe (Possibly)
Adebayo
Lee (Possibly)

Bolden (Possibly)
Willis
Skal (Possibly)
Gabriel
SKJ
Matthews
Hawkins
Mulder
Humphries
Wynyard

Man, might have to platoon again...

Skal should go. I don't see anything good from him returning. I hope Brisco comes back. If he could develop a jumper he would be a 1st rounder

Ulis - 95% gone. Weaker draft than next year, what more can he prove of himself, absolutely no reason to return.

Poythress - 90% gone. Could apply for a RS. But he wants to go. Unless he tries out for teams and they say no chance, he is gone.

Skal 85% gone. He may have showed just enough the past 2-3 weeks for some team to say they will take him in the 1st.

Briscoe 60% gone. Again weak draft, but will a team draft a guy who can't score outside 5'?

Lee 20% gone. Just don't see it happening.
Poythress 100% gone. He's a senior

Skal? Normally I would 100% think he should stay BUT look at our frontcourt next year, he's not guaranteed any minutes. He's a fresher prospect right now, so if he was to repeat his freshman year next year not only would it show lack of progress but he'd be a year older, further dropping his stock. This draft is weak, someone will gamble on him in the top 15, and as a pro he will get better strength training and can focus 100% on basketball and will at the very least see minutes in the DL.

Briscoe? That'd be dumb. He can legitimately improve his draft stock big time over the next year or two by developing a more reliable jumper, unless his family needs the money ASAP it'd be a bad career move for him. He's at best a 2nd rounder right now.

Lee? He really hasn't improved a lick since day 1 so that shouldn't be expected to change. Really just a matter of whether or not he is enjoying the college life. He'll be a 2nd rounder regardless of which draft he enters.

Ulis? This is a weak class so it is probably in his best interest to leave. He could stand to polish his jump shot and truly become the perfect PG (...minus the size), but I'm not sure how much that will change his stock and it's something he can work on in the NBA. I really want him to stay, but there's really no reason to, and he will be a stud at the next level.

Murray? Weak class, he could go as high as #3 or #4, he gone.

Murray, Ulis, and Poythress are the only for sure gone. Skal, Lee, and Briscoe are the ones that will are going to have to wait and see what they do. Even if we lose all three we will still be loaded next year.

For sure returning are Willis, Humphries, Hawkins, and Mathews.
We have a bunch of five star talent coming in and even if a couple turn out to be bust, not all of them will so we will have immediate impact players coming in.
