Should criminals get ? After reading about the slaying in Florida (sorry cant post ) the killer had 230 felony arrests . In my mind thats 228 2nd chances to many.
We should not be pacifying criminals, we are a civilized society, I get that , but for the love of God how many times do we let people out just to screw decent people over ?

Found this as well: "Tony Wiggins was first arrested at age 12 and has a history of 230 felony charges and 15 convictions, Judd said."

F'n Florida. How is this possible?

It's not just Florida, thieves at home stealing & breaking into homes costing us thousands & all they get is a "please dont do this " & a slap on the wrist until someone dies then it's a new law that wont do **** to correct it , we the people have to replace our goods that was stolen, if we turn it in to insurance they legally steal what's left .

It's a mental hygiene issue. These far left believes these people don't need to be in jail. They need to be on a sofa or hanging with Dr. Phil. Kazz will tell you all about it. [winking]

On a serious note there are some people in jail that need to be in a max security mental health facility instead of jail. Some need to be making little rocks out of big one's. ( harder labor shorter sentences). And yes some are so friggin evil they need a firing squad. One bullet is better on the environment than wasting the electric.

The problem is with the penal system itself.

Some people, especially on the left, want to make this about race. They throw statistics out like "13% of population and 50% of the crime" and such. But, it really isn't about race; it's more about class.

Our prisons are filled with people, white, black, and hispanic, from the lower social classes. Their outlook on the world is different from those from the middle and upper classes.

For example, the view/role of men. For the middle and upper classes, the role of men is to be a provider, a disciplinarian, a role model, and the moral backbone of the family. These men will fight to protect these views.

For the lower classes, the role of the man is to be a "He-Man". A lover and a fighter. This man will fight for his honor and reputation. He will fight anyone who "disses" him; who makes him look weak or small. It is all about being the biggest and baddest and he will do anything - lie, cheat, steal, or if necessary kill, to protect his rep. Because of this, stresses will cause one of two responses - fight or flight. With no enemy to fight, he will flee from the stresses of employment and fatherhood; virtually ensuring the next generation of males no role model to replicate.

What we need is more open-ended sentencing. You get out when you can demonstrate that you are capable and willing to replicate middle class values. In other words, you have a job skill and you are willing to perform it.

What we have today is a system that just makes an angrier, better criminal who gets out with no change in values or skills other than learning better how not to get caught next time.

Turn our prisons into pseudo schools, colleges, and vocational schools. Get out when you graduate, then pay back to the system a little to help out the next guy.

Some truth in all that. But there are plenty of wealthy criminals. They can just afford better lawyers. Hillary Clinton just off of the top of my mind as an example.

Some merit in that. Vocational training and tax breaks for companies that will hire them is something some states already do.

Get rid of the illegal immigrants & make prisoners pick all the tomatoes for restitution so to speak pay them a couple dollars the rest goes to the state or feds to pay for there upkeep
