How long until Florida falls off the map?

Mike White has 49 losses in 4 seasons at Florida, and has 3 more coming this year. I'm not sure how he keeps his job.

I don't (personally) like threads like this on gameday. Florida is desperate today and has the jumpshooters to make this game interesting if they're making shots.

I personally like Mike White. His only real problem right now is recruiting. If he could recruit like Calipari, his teams would be very dangerous. He's clearly a solid coach.

He has a great class coming in ( top 10 ) . He has zero fear of losing his job this season. Last season they were great . UF is a mystery this season as they are more talented this season then last but they are a 11-12 seed at best and last they were what a 3 seed?

I hate UF more then UL , IU and Duke combined (I live in Jacksonville , FL ) BUT this is a silly bump. UF is just having one of those years. It happens. And hell I don't think White is a good coach but he was just really good last year so he has nothing to worry about.

I grew up in Florida. High school football was everything. Basketball was nothing. With the exception of spring training baseball we had no professional sports till the Miami Dolphins started. They even blacked out the 1969 Super Bowl. I never saw a basketball game till I set foot on the UK campus.

Beyond that, questionable premise for the thread. In May of 2015 lot of crowing that Florida wouldn't see a final four again for a long time, if ever. Less than 2 years later they played SC for a berth in the final four, and were favored. Lost that game, of course.....but based on that if nothing else I suspect the Gator demise can't be proclaimed just yet.....

Like I wrote before, there is no excuse for not being good at Florida. Florida with Egbunu last year and Stone + other bigs would be a lot better. Given the geographical and resource advantage, Florida should have a better athletics program than Kentucky. They might beat us today.

Depends on the hire. Attractive job. It's been proven as a place you can win big. Talent-rich state. Coaches seem to love working for Foley.

Foley, although pretty much a jerk did a great job for UF and it's coaches. But Foley has been gone two years, maybe three.

Foley will find someone good to run the Florida basketball. Usually, the candidate is a young, hungry coach that will take this great opportunity to prove themselves. Additionally, the state of Florida produces a lot of talent on an annual basis. The new coach will just have to lock down some of the top basketball talent!
