I’m predicting Nebraska loses a close, ugly one 27-24.

Until Rhule proves he can beat teams with proven good coaches, I will pick against him. Coaches like Fitzgerald, Fleck, and Bielema always out coach him. That said, I think we win this one and buck the trend.

NU’s success on the field this year is whether or not the offense can generate explosive pass plays down field imo. We have weapons but can they create separation from B1G secondaries? Can the OL block well enough to buy time to get these plays off? I trust in the run game but it will eventually get stuffed if there is no vertical threat downfield.

I think Fitzgerald wants this game played in a phone booth. I'm hoping they could still be feeling the effects of a physical game against ND. They didn't crack 200 yds of offense vs. A stout ND defense.
I had this one as an "L" ore-season. I thought the line would open around 3. IMO, seeing that it opened around 5.5 was a good sign. I think Colandrea could be our X-Factor Saturday night.
We probably see a steady diet of Cam Edwards. Not sure how they can consistently take the top off our D.

Will most likely be very short game. MSU taking as much clock as possible on the ground. MSU had the home field and coaching advantage. Huskers have better players and experience. MSU has upper hand on defense and special teams. It may be up to our offense and play calling to pull it out. Expect to see more counter - counter/trap/ wham series along with the boot off that look and waggle pass off off it. Also not just the RB flares but a full fledged RB deep pass wide with a lazy fake and cleared out area in man coverage. Definitely will see qb power and counter off jet action look. Hoping for a win here- should be nip and tuck. This pass has been wide open but we threw it deep . and early to an open WR. Expect more QB power or counter off of jet sweep action .

Simply posting my thoughts strictly based on the line
I think sparty will be the public (square) side on Saturday
I also still think this is a 6-7 win team

Feels like a close loss to me, I'd echo the 24-21 type sentiments.
This year, MSU has:

The pessimism on here about this game shows that this really is a HUGE game for Rhule. Despite his buyout, this is a make it or break it year for Rhule. For 3 years we have seen his NU teams beat up on cream puffs early only to totally collapse once we get into conference play. Therefore, fans are rightfully skeptical and waiting to see if this year will be different. If we lose on Saturday it won’t necessarily be doomsday. But damn, it will certainly destroy fan support and feed the cynicism monster big time. My gut says that if we lose this game it will probably create a negative vortex that will affect the rest of the season in ugly ways.
In short, this is a MUST WIN game for Rhule. No doubt about it. Especially since MSU is not even one of the better B1G teams.
