Apologize if this topic has already been discussed. We seem to have been out coached in many games with poor adjustments either during the game or particularly at the half. What is the book on Rhule analyzing first half play and better attacking the other team in the second half?
How is Rhule with in game adjustments?

Valid question. From what I've looked to in his coaching history when he was hired, it seems he likes to have control of the score in the game heading into half. Then super conservative trying to just wear out the opponent until game over.
Some people have voices hating the lack of keeping the foot on the pedal after half, but it's not even really that. It's about control, and robbing the opponent of their will. Of course sometimes teams do come back and find their way even when down several scores. But I like the philosophy - so long as we're legitimately explosive in the first half and indeed go up on the opponent on the score board before half.
I mean, it's not like the foot comes off the pedal after half. Rhule is simply a proponent of physical football, which means running the ball, batter and dehumanize the opposing defense into the 4th quarter.
We just need to make sure we're developing the oline into road graters who can sustain that philosophy through the whole game as required for a win with said philosophy. Maybe we'll have that already this year, maybe more so next year or the following season. But I think our guys are already better run blocking than pass blocking, so hopefully Rhule is onto something when he says he doesn't think this year 1 will be like his others.

Yeah he must’ve forgotten how to make football adjustments after winning 10 and 11 games in college once he got to the NFL. Clearly why he failed in the league.

Adjustments are all about how well your players know your scheme. It's a new staff teaching it, learning it. Hopefully things are simplified juist enough that halftime adjustments can be made effectively.
Yeah that happened a lot at Baylor. Seemed different at Temple. Wonder if it was because Temple was more of a ball control team to begin with.

We lost games under Frost because he was a bad in game coach. Not that we were an extremely talented team during Frost's tenure, but I would have loved to have seen the results of the 2021 team with a great in game coach.
