Honestly the last 7 years have been one nut shot after another.

The people who think “everything is fine” and we are still the same UK that rolled through 2010-2015…..

You know the rest.
This. +1000, I feel like we've taken more shots during this era. At least with Billy G i didn't expect much, but when Every year feels like 92' it gets weary.

Wow....wonder who was elevated to a bigger role in recruiting/talent evaluation in '16??? Couldn't be a correlation at all right?

Now I will say the league and their stubborn arrogance has ignored a few guys Calipari tried to tell them would be better than they expected and they chose to ignore it. If you redrafted now, you think SGA and Tyrese Maxey aren't going higher? The dip in talent was my biggest criticism of the program and it's on Cal for letting a staff be weakened when it should've been revamped after '15 instead of assumed it would just continue to roll with anyone on the staff.

Ive wanted #9 every year since 2012. KY and CAL’s slide has me now hoping and praying for an SEC regular or tourney title and trying to win an NCAA Tourney game……….. Triple C is destroying KY Basketball and it is pretty dam embarrassing.

UK will be fine. We have 4 titles the past 63 years and counting. We have had tons of bad years and down years over that time and will have plenty more with the next coach. The titles will continue to be a rarity.

It's kind of neat watching Cal worship transform from a fetish to an actual cult.
It's actually pretty bizarre. The CCC Cheer Camp Crew can't even be objectively honest and muster even a single criticism about any one of obvious complaints about Cal. They honestly think he's infallible. Saw the EXACT same thing growing up here in Indy with IU fans and Bobby Knight. Eerily similar.

Yeah but if you take the numbers from the last 13 years, massage them, move them around here and there, you can find some pretty great stats. Probably find some things UK us #1 at. Then trumpet that.

There are 2 ways to get a player in the top 10. The first one is to recruit players that are already there. Anthony Davis could have played anywhere in college and went top 10. The other way is to be a great coach and help them develop into a top caliber player.

Cal is neither a great recruiter anymore nor a great coach anymore (if he ever was).

Top 10? Isn't the lottery what people usually go by?
Wasn't pj lottery?
SGA?
Bam?
8 in the lottery since 2016
When you are proving a point by providing statistics, you must only pull stats that support your point. If we had 10 players drafted in the Top10, then the goal posts move to "we've only had 0 players drafted in the Top5...my how we suck". And it is always stats "since 2015".

The recruiting has been 1 or 2 every year that Cal has been here until he started focusing on the portal. So...I will never understand the moaning about recruiting. The misses are what is so surprising...Skal, Boston, etc. Those are guys that everyone was recruiting but just didn't work out for some reason. I can't readily explain it.

Pretty telling stat as to where recruiting is.

Another crazy one....

Between 1979 and 2009, 30 years we had 6 Top 10 picks and 2 National Championships.

Between 2010 and now, 13 years we've had 13 Top 10 picks and 1 National Championship.
Your mistake is you included 2010 to 2015. Those stats are now irrelevant.

He was both at some points. Hell we saw flashes of it this year when we nearly won at LSU and in a couple other games where we did not have Ty or Wheeler. He coached his butt a couple of times.

But like everything else with the program, it’s just become inconsistent. Need THAT Cal to show back up. The one that used his pride correctly.

Seems like he’s in no hurry to replace Jai, that’s kinda worrying.
