If they can find a way to guard the middle the sky's the limit. If they can't there will be issues. Skal can shoot with the best of them but he seems way too easy to beat around the basket. Marcus Lee can't seem to do it either. Hopefully it gets figured out.

To early to tell. We will have to make dramatic improvement to get past sweet 16 but the potential is there

It depends on the development of the front court.

Main two guys lack the bulk to bang - Lee & Skal, so thats not getting fixed. So a new level of toughness/physicality needs to be shown by those two. It can help make up for some of the bulk they give up. Get dirty down there.

Next, Poythress getting fully healed. He just doesn't look 100% to me. I don't see the same explosion. He's still athletic, but healthy Poy is a freak.

The ceiling is still natty title. They just also can get bounced early if matched up w/ a thick front court w/ 1 perimeter shot-maker.

No reason we can't still win it all. We have a ton of talent on this team. If the light switch goes on for Murray and Skal, then we are the best team in the country.

Good shot at the Final Four.

Guard play goes a long way in the tourney and by March I don't think anyone will have guards that can hang with ours.

I have no idea. The thing is when we play on the road in the SEC we can't play soft. I'm not worried about louisville Ohio St or Arz St, I'm worried about the SEC road.

Right now it seems like we're a sweet 16 team, but its such a down year, we could be a final four team

Anywhere from 2nd round to ninth title. If we figure out how to play Ulis, Briscoe and Murray most effectively, I like our chances. I think we'll get the inside game worked out especially with Wynyrd coming in. We'll have enough bodies to at least match most teams. If Murray is off then the whole team could easily follow suit, and then we'd have to win it inside and we'd be in trouble. We have to get Murray making three threes every game at least. And not in the last two minutes when we're down 15 points, either.

I think it's too early to tell, I'm always wanting a deep run at the title every year but I'm greedy like that[winking]

I'm thinking they end the regular season with 3, maybe 4 loses. They win the SEC tourney and get a # 1 seed. Then it's anywhere from an E8 to a title. Depends solely on tourney match-ups.

I love this roster and I hope they can hang # 9.

kinda surprising, but vegas odds still have uk 6/1 to win it all, followed by dewk 9/1.

That's because Vegas doesn't overreact to one bad game. Likewise, the odds didn't change after we beat Duke either because they didn't overreact to a big win. A large portion of our fans are just too bipolar to maintain a steady head throughout the season. We aren't as bad as we showed against UCLA and everyone knows it except us.

This team is certainly capable of another final four. If we don't develop an inside presence then we are also susceptible to an early exit like all guard-oriented teams are, but my expectations for this team haven't changed a bit over the past week.

We have one of our toughest road schedules in a long time. This team will be tested and how that works out in the won loss record who knows. We could lose three or four we could get beat eight or nine times.

Regardless, Cal will have them ready for another tournament run.

Vegas knows what they're doing. This is not surprising considering we probably have the best guard lineup in the country. Skal will develop. I would say that Ulis is the man to lead us to the final game, but Skals development will be the key. So I'm going on record now, we will make the final four; anything after that, who knows.

Heart says final four, mind says Elite 8.
My heart says final four, but my head says Sweet 16 at best. I think this year we are really going to see what a typical year with mostly freshman looks like. IMO, its going to be similar to the 2013 season, without the NIT appearance, and I hope I'm wrong about the 'similar to 2013' part.

We'll be playing our best ball come March. If Murray's reaching his potential and Skal's improved- and considering Calipari's resume here, I don't see why they wouldn't be- we'll be as good as anyone.

In CBB, the ability to dribble penetrate and stop dribble penetration is akin to running and stopping the run in football. I think we'll be able to do that better than anyone else.

Three weeks ago, people were all fired up about this team's potential. Now, one loss with our best player with a hurting shooting arm and our best big out with a concussion and people lose faith?

Who has a more impressive win than UK handling Duke on a neutral floor?

Cal is a master at developing the talent he hauls in. Come mid-February, this will be a team that nobody wants any part of.
I have no reason not to believe that Skal will learn how to use his length to his advantage and the guards will continue to gain cohesiveness.
Should be a fun ride. Enjoy, cat fans!
Losses? Yeah, they'll take 'em, but I don't see this group getting beaten mercilessly in any game they play.

Looking at the schedule, it looks as if UCLA is the farthest they will go...over 2,000 miles. That seems pretty far to me!

We beat Duke easy. If we play like that we can go far. We just need to improve and we will be fine.

We are built for march. We have great guard play. More importantly, we have scoring guards and the best point guard in the country. Murray and Briscoe can create their own, and Murray has shown the ability to take over (he is that superstar scorer when needed). We have a shut down long defender and sixth man in Mathews, and we have serviceable bigs that can block shots and rebound. Although, they need to and will improve rebounding. Skal and Humphries have great offensive touch out to 15 feet. Alex can bang, and remember this. Cals teams are new every year. They take time to gel, and are better and ready in March. We are fine, and Im excited to see this team in March, They are built for tourney play. I still expect to lose 2 or 3 games. But, the important thing is this, Get that 1 or 2 seed, play in the Louisville region, keep improving, treat each weekend of the tourney as its own tourney, reset, and repeat. There are no teams out there this year that truly mismatch us. Last year we were the best. but Wisconsin mismatched us, and there was always that chance, This year we are built for postseason play. However, we need to continue getting better rebounding, Briscoe MUST get better at free throw shooting, we need to get healthy, Skal must play better D without fouling. But I trust this team under Cal, and I want to see Murray take over more, like everyone knows he can. He is the guy
And Taj is going to really help

Nail on the head and voice of reason. Two weeks ago skal was the best prospect now he is a two year player...lol
