Indiana defintely has the ingredients to win a national title. But stop and think about that for a minute: INDIANA! Indiana has a legit shot at a national championship in FOOTBALL!
Indiana will be in the CFP for the second year in a row. Indiana has NO football tradition. None. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Yet, once they hired Cignetti, they immediately became a national power. Of course, Cignetti did bring a bunch of his guys from that football factory . . . James Madison.
Indiana has won TWO Big Ten titles in football: 1945 and 1967. They have made ONE Rose Bowl appearance, 1968. That's it. Indiana hasn't won a Big Ten title in 58 years, but they'll have a great shot at one in 2025 on the way to a potential national title.
Think where they'd be if they had a coach with 27 years of experience . . .

They won at Iowa, at Oregon and now at Penn State...possibly the toughest places to play in the B1G outside of Columbus. Two of those games they made clutch plays at the end to win. Mendoza has icewater in his veins.
OSU is certainly the biggest test. They may be the best team in the conference and possibly the country. But to say IU hasn't been tested is false. Some of you guys need to get past your denial. This is a damn good IU team and program.

They are good, but they also have had some breaks go their way. That catch against PSU was incredible, but should they even be in that spot if they are a team that will go far in the CFP?

And that was when Iowa had its worst tackling day in a few seasons. Indy was lucky to win that game
I agree, I thought they would beat psu by at least two scores, they had the 20-7 lead and maybe they fell asleep, but you cant take a nap in the playoffs
Like Indiana but when they run into a buzz saw vs OSU… it’s going to be tough but whoever knows this is why the games are played
I think they are overrated when it comes to competing w/ the big boys. They are certainly well-funded compared to their previous talent level. Mark Cuban is investing a ton of money into that athletic department. Hell, their volleyball team (also one of the worst programs in D1 forever similar to football) is in the top 20.
We will see how they stack up w/ OSU in the Big 10 title game.
