How does this performance not get Cohen fired?

Cohen is a prime example of the Peter Principle where you rise to the level of your incompetence.... sad thing is Keenum is an example too.

I’ve turned my attention to Cohen. This is all on him now. Fire Joe now or this milestone is around your neck.

It’s too late for Cohen. This shitshow is directly on his shoulders. Im about as angry I’ve ever been. Cohen is such a smug ******* that thinks he is smarter than everyone in the room despite not being that bright. He has clearly bombed as a AD and shows zero understanding in how to run an athletic department. This is beyond embarrassing.

Honestly you could fire Cohen without hesitation right now. Get the new AD in to start vetting football candidates in the spring

A group of fans need to meet Moorhead at the airport and promptly tar and feather him. Send he and Cohen out on the same rail. It took a lot of work for our football team to be this pathetic.

Oh wait we are not suppose to be upset about the total failure of our football program! We are not suppose to say our administration is a total failure to our fans, alumnus and bulldog club donors. Cohen can leave immediately and take that **** show of football coaches with you!!!!

I’ve been somewhat critical of Moorhead but after this? I truly hope somebody in Starkville, Ms. has the stones to call a spade a spade and actually do something about this circus!

And I dare any of these message board tuff guys come on here and tell me I’m crazy for being angry! Dare you!

Nothing says "come coach at State" like a good tar and feathering of your last coach.

The fight that sidelined your starting qb and the total lack of preparation for the bowl game just adds insult to injury. What a relief that this train wreck season is over. Sadly, doesn’t look to be any better next year.

How can we not have the money? We are in the golden age of college football and the SEC is the crown jewell. The recent contract is even higher than ESPN was paying the SEC to air games. If money is a problem, then that’s just a excuse, not a reality.

I think he's a lame duck walking. We got a tough schedule mid season, and there's no way him and slomo make it out alive. All he had to do is can his ***, and we might have trusted him for one more hire.

Do you actually think thats what unfolded??

I know for fact that what happened at UM with the firing of Luke. A couple or one in particular donor at UM after the pissing incident called and said he had they money ready to fire Luke. That he had enough being embarrassed by his University that he is a alumnus of. And Luke got fired and the guy had to cough up a bunch of monies.

Problem is is I don’t think we have any alumnus that have that kind of monies or stones to take Cohen out and football coaches with him.

That alum is a magical unicorn with very thick skin if he made it all the way to piss and miss before being embarrassed

If Cohen pushed hard to fire Moorhead and the money didn’t materialize, I think it’s not necessarily on him.

His department cleared $10 million last year and something like $50 million over the last 8 years. No excuses. Better yet, don't extend the ******* for falling well short of expectations, send that message, and by now the buyout is more than halved.

This. One donor—who doesn't donate to athletics—made a call, fronted around $8 million, and said "find the rest." They did, and canned Luke.

We laugh at Ole Miss any chance we get, but when you're one of the lead stories on Good Morning America, Today Show, etc., for losing a game BECAUSE A PLAYER FAKE PISSED, that's rough.

How the 17 do you run a $10M surplus in a conference where your revenues are in the bottom 3? That alone should get Cohen fired!

Having multiple players sit the 1st quarter for skipping classes following tutor gate is the very definition of lack of institutional control. Heads should have rolled months ago and they damn sure better be now.

Cohen is livid. With Aramark. He will be meeting with them soon to personally express his displeasure with their service. And then send them a strongly worded letter.

Ole Miss announced that Luke's buyout was not paid with private donations.

I honestly can’t imagine being rich enough to throw away $8-million on any football program to fire a coach. I mean... even if I had $1-billion sitting in my bank account, I still wouldn’t give that kind of money to a 17n college football program just to change a coach.

They don't have the money...sanctions/fines, not making bowls/not getting bowl checks from SEC, lower season ticket sales, paying around $65 million debt for The Pavilion. Before Bjork hightailed it to College Station, he drained their rainy day fund. Hell, they left two "c-suite" athletic department positions unfilled for a few years.

It's a millstone, which is a very large circular rock, not a milestone which is a goal to be achieved.

you can bet we have alums with that kind of money but they don’t want to spend it on that

Thank you for saying this. I have a good bit of money from a long productive life, maybe more than 90% of the posters here. I am nearly 100% certain I have more than all of those screaming for Joe to be fired. I am upset with the losses and the poor performance of the team. However, I have grown quite fond of my money and would not contribute $500 of the multiple of millions needed to buy out his contract.

There are lots of big talkers here. Someone above said to tar and feather Joe. Do they understand what they put into writing is a threat of bodily harm and makes them guilty of a felony? Others make big nasty statements and I bet none of then have written what they say here down and mailed it to Our AD, or President.

Maybe we can start threatening our Basketball coaches or Baseball and softball coaches now.

They better keep their ***** mouths closed about the frisby coach or hockey team, because ….

I believe you missed my point which is that the football program generates more than enough money to be able to buyout Joe and hire a new coach

Collateral? A kidney perhaps? You have two. Half of your liver? A lung? an eye?

Let me know. We can work something out. I understand people have problems.
