How does RU win by 15 with zero from Young or Mathis ?

Hefele, Kleinbaum, Conlin, Palko ?
You forgot Abdel Anderson. But if you’re saying this is our deepest team of all time, I can buy that too. It’s just that the 76 team was deep with star players — Sellers, Dabney, Jordan, Bailey, Anderson, Copeland.

Is this the deepest team we've ever had ?
Another reason to play 9 deep when you don’t have a bona fide lead player on nightly basis. You never know who can carry the team on a given night. Makes it harder to defend and provides optionality to Pikiell. If they can add a consistent outside shooter In addition to a Johnson backup this team could be dangerous next year even away from home.

And to think next year, we will be deeper. If Cliff Omoruyi commits in the Spring, we will be preseason top 25 for next year. Cliff takes Shaq Carter's role(net +). If 2 of 3 recruits can fill Yeboah's role, the team is at the top of the B1G again next year. Everyone else gets a year older and better, and it is Geo and Jacob Young's senior years.

I would have gotten Young, Mathis and McConnel back in at the end of the game for a few more minutes. They weren't have great games but each of these guys has helped us during the course of this year and you want to keep them feeling part of the team. I felt like Mathis was out forever and he is a starter.

Young looked a lot like he did early on with way too much forcing the play.
Other than that, this team is a true team. No headliner getting all the attention and the ball.

No one who ever saw his jump shot could ever forget Abdel. Actually, I couldn't remember whether it was him or Copeland who started. And then apparently I couldn't count to five.

May I suggest you watch the game again.Jacobs D was important. He came in at 14 minute mark with RU up 1.He left at 7 minute mark with us having in essence put them away.Good that we scored some but our D won it once again for us.

Because a good healthy Geo and one hot shooter can beat anyone.
Add Yaboah to the mix on his normal night and we very dangerous.
RHJ on his off nights needs to score 15... minimum

I think playing 9 is one of main reasons we seem to play well in second half. We can pressw we need, focus on defending but have fresh legs to up the offense. I think we wear down better talented (starting 5) teams

I've been saying it all year. Every game we win you can point to a couple players who didnt play well and we win. So deep. The problem during slump was instead of it being a couple people it was most of the team

I get nervous when Yong and Mathis come shooting blanks and sit quickly.

But it looks like Mulcahey is picking up some of their slack.

When Harper and GEO are hitting on all cylinders ...throw in a Yeboa and we can beat anyone!

I thought Young played well.. he didn't push it so far into numbers just because it was his turn to shoot.. Early season I saw that.. or thought I did.. and Mathis still does it every now and then.

But both of them turned the ball back outside the arch when the path to the hoop got closed... that's good team ball.

When we play like we just did... beating anyone is possible. There might be less than 10 teams out there who I would have to assume we'd lose to.. and even then we might catch them on the right day... as long as it is our best game.

That's remarkable giving the recruiting ratings of our players vs star programs. These guys, and the coaches, really do make up the difference with teamwork, grit, heart and determination.

It's amazing and I love it.

I remember Troy being the key in a defense against some 7-footers where hey would be under the basket. The opponent would have to try to do an entry pass over the defender in front where the big man would grab it... but what would happen is when he gathered the ball and brought it down there was no room.. Troy was there ripping it from him.

Its been a long time since then and I have never seen this defense again. It was a lot like a typical 1-3-1 or diamond and one.. but Troy played behind the big man and our big man fronted him.. very strange.
