How can you not like Coach Lemonis

4 years is the longest contract any coach can have at a public university in Mississippi. I’m sure he wil get it bumped back to the full 4 years any day now. I can guarantee you if it’s up to him Lemonis has every intention of retiring from MSU

Vic was going to leave at some point because he was going to go back to Texas. Everyone thought it would be A&M but that obviously changed. Lemonis grew up here so it’s a little different.

He is family through his Dad, and it's not a concept we can really get our minds around, but there really aren't any jobs in college baseball any bigger than MSU, at least not now. The ONLY thing we lacked Lemonis just took care of.

And go where? Did you see the crowds for the rest of the teams in Omaha. There isn’t a program that compares to what State has going on.

This was my thought. Almost any other program other than a few would be a step down, and unlike Vic, has some emotional ties to the university that could create some additional loyalty.

The point it would hard to start that rumor and it be semi-believable to an outsider. It’s easy to do that with our football program without the history of being an upper half SEC program. In baseball, we are an upper tier program, so where would he be rumored to
go that people might actually believe.

Yes. Yes he did.

But to answer the original question, it’s hard to not like Lemonis. He’s a good dude, who constantly deflects credit away from himself. And he’s a hell of a coach.

All 3 of your big 3 coaches are likable, right now. Howland is probably the easiest to dislike, but he’s still a good dude.

He could probably be a legend at Texas too but Mississippi has a lot of pros those places do have and don’t have.

He’s gonna get paid a lot here.
He’s got just as much or more support as those places.
He can recruit almost as good here even with the lack of advantages they have.
And he doesn’t have to win it all every year to keep that support.
