Joliet Central with the win. I have no idea the last time the started 2-0. They have not won more than 2 games in a season in over 30 years. With Romeoville, Plainfield Central and a down Joliet West team still on the schedule, five wins is realistic. Congrats to Steelmen. Nice to see.

Don't ask me why I remember this, maybe because I was stunned it wasn't MC or JCA in that era, but I remember when the Times had them as the Preseason #1 when they had a All Everything QB in Mark Zander's that I know went to Wisconsin but not sure what happened to him after. Guess I can just have AI tell me

That was a very good team. It was back when West and Central combined athletics.

They started 3-0 in 1989 but then injuries hit & they finished 5-4. Barely lost week 9 to Lincoln Way or would have made playoffs

1976 last time Joliet Central qualified for playoffs. I think they lost to Lake Park. massive District 204 showdown next Friday..West desperate for a win. Central wins 3 this year they may qualify for playoffs..

That was the only year. They gave the Toppers a pretty good game then upset Marian Catholic to get in. 1986 & 1989 they would have made the playoffs. In 76 they had some key injuries & 5-3-1 Lake Park upset them. Btw I remember Joliet West was originally the Westmen a Viking like mascot
