Vegas says they are +7 to the team that just hung 10 points on Memphis.

They’re bad. But I can’t imagine ole miss beating them by more than 7

They’re bad enough that I’ve had Mississippi penciled in to win that game all off-season. I’m sticking with that pick.

The Arkansas defense was very good but the offense was abysmal. Hogs were without starting TE CJ O'Grady but still, should score more than 20 against an FCS team. Morris is going to be stubborn and start Ben Hicks again against Ole Miss when Starkel should get more of an opportunity.

didn't get to watch the game. What seems to be the real issue with getting the offense going. i know bert had an old school ground game attack and Morris has the spread. I feel like he could have adapted some kind of run based spread to make the transition a little easier the way Mullen did for us his first two years including fullbacks. is Hicks the one that went out in last year's ole miss game trying to get a first down in the fourth quarter?

No. Hicks is a graduate transfer from SMU. All of Arky’s QBs from last year transferred out and Hicks and Starkel transferred in. I heard an announcer say that they replaced all 11 starters from last year. He is basically starting over.

A lot of Arkansas fans don't like the OC (he calls plays, not Morris, but Morris has the final say obviously). He was a GA at Clemson who came with Morris to be OC at SMU. We throw the ball side-to-side way too much and don't take near enough shots downfield. We tried a slow-developing swing screen pass on 3rd and 7, for example. Then we roll out the QB inside the redzone and eliminate half of the field which results in throwing the ball away half the time. It's just not as fast-paced or aggressive as advertised. We haven't had good OL or QB play since Morris has been here though so that's hampered them a bit. Rakeem Boyd is a really good RB but the rest are pretty average. And we're starting two true freshman receivers so they aren't ready yet.
