Chandler really seemed to bother Ament early in the second half
Chandler was amazing in the second half. But everyone stepped up. Oweh did great on final UT possession.

ZERO threes for UT in the second half. CATS locked that **** down!!
Chandler deserves a lot of credit for that. He was able to keep Ament contained for almost the entire second half, which freed Oweh to take on Gillispie and not be at a massive height disadvantage. Tennessee doesn’t have much scoring beyond those two.

Chandler locked down Ament. That actually shows how Pat Adams understands the subtle part of the game. Ament couldn't score on Chandler so Adams called four phantom fouls on CC so they would have to put Oweh back on him
If they can play a complete game, I think they’ll give a lot of teams problems
Suffocating. Completely shut them down. Horrible officiating is the only thing that kept Tennessee in the game.
It really was. I think he even did a slight double-clutch to make the pass and get the ball around the defender.
Adams might as well put on an orange jersey tonight. His calls were 90% in favor of TN. No one touched ament on the play you are talking about, not even a swipe at the ball yet somehow that POS called a foul.

My question, if we had the big half first and had to hold on to win game in second half, is it any more a complete game.
Opponents factor into how the game goes also. I'd rather adjust and comeback than claw to hang on... same result but recency bias. Lol
Doubling Ament and putting Chandler on him were huge adjustments.

Coach Pope does a heck of a job making half time adjustments. Wow what a game lol
Officiating and missing bunnies and freethrows kept them in the game. Our big guys drive me crazy. Garrison and Moreno can both miss wide open bunnies and then turn around an make some incredible shots.
Chandler also misses at least one lay up a game that goes in and out

Well they should have, they took such a long break on D in the first half they had extra energy left over.

Watching the replay, I actually think there is a foul there.

The problem is there is WAY MORE pulling & holding than that by UT constantly when they play defense with no call. So, I have no problem call that a foul on Chandler IF there were more foul calls when UT holds constantly.
Him letting the game come to him has been huge. Not hunting “his” shot as much. If we could get him to lock down on defense that could be a big next step for this team.
the defense he played on Lament after that Chandler three was horrible. Let them get the lead right back.
I got my plays mixed up. The defensive play I was talking about is around the 1:02 mark. After the DA free throws.
UT was on fire and fed off Ament's mojo. Everything shifted in the second half when the shots that were falling for them didn't in the second half.
They stuck to the plan that UT would not shoot as well in the second half as they did in the first.
The strategy and adjustments worked. Another second half comeback made possible by halftime adjustments, beautifully done, by Coach Pope.
Gotta give him credit. UT was playing great basketball A+ game in the first half. We helped them get graded out as an F in the second and a Loss in the end. They ebat us by 14 in the first half, we beat them by 17 in the second.
Gotta love seeing them stick with it until the very end !
