Very solid in my opinion. But he didn't beat UK "with nothing."
He doesn’t impress me much. 16 years at the power conference level. 1 conference championship, 5 missed tournaments, and only 1 trip past the Sweet 16.
He's not a top target but agree that he would be a big upgrade over Cal.
Can the UK name help him recruit better. His X and O ability is good enough.
I guess every single poster is going to make a new thread with every single potential candidate that comes to mind.
I get all the convo but it WOULD be kinda nice to consolidate it all into one thread

He is taking Kelvin Sampson to school. His team just got what seems like 10 straight offensive rebounds after multiple misses and they have shot like crap yet this game is going to OT.

True bur look at where he has been: Marquette, VA Tech, and now A&M. I'd say he hit his ceiling at all 3 places. Question is whether he could recruit more elite players for us.
I would be very happy with Buzz as our coach assuming Brad Stevens , Donavan, and Jay wright all said no .

You might as well keep Cal if you mention Sean Miller. PA kid who Cal helped recruit to Pitt--knows the family and is like family to Cal. Tried to be like Cal but wasn't as slick and private and then got busted at Arizona.
Miller is a **** offensive coach too.
Buzz Williams at UK would be gross. All his BS where players jump into guys wouldn't get a whistle for the Cats and they'd lose 14/15 games a year. It would be Billy G like.
Sean was found completely innocent of all wrongdoing. Look it up. He's definitely not the 5th or 6th or 7th option either. I was just saying Buzz is comparable to him. Miller has had a lot more success in the post season too.
15-loss seasons and 2nd Round tournament flame outs aren't the standard here. Beating a CCC coached team doesn't take that much these days.
Given Buzz isn't a newbie, what has he done to make him a worthy candidate?
You might as well keep Cal if you hire 90% of the names on people's list. They're all lateral moves and spending $33 million for a lateral move isn't going to make boosters want to pony up the next buyout when you need to fire the next guy after year 3 because we still haven't gotten to the second weekend of the tournament.
