I've never not been in Ashton's corner. When he's on he's as exciting as any player out there especially while wreaking havoc defensively.

Ashton Hagans is a sophomore. He's progressing just fine for a sophomore. He's up in rebounds, assists, ft%, steals, blocks, and ppg. So his shooting % are down and turnovers are up. The uptick in turnovers I think can mainly be attributed to his recent shooting struggles. He's pressing to make up for it by being overly aggressive.

He pretty much just needs to do a better job of relaxing and just taking what the game is giving him. Affect the game in other ways. Defense and rebounding. Getting after loose balls and seeking contact when driving to the basket. He's a good free throw shooter. Get your points there. Be the facilitator we know you can be.
This is how I feel.

"You know, that's our brother. We love him. We can't wait for him to come back," said teammate Nick Richards, who scored a team-high 19 points on Saturday. "We love him and we're gonna be there for him."

I love Nick's quote. I think we are going to pull together and have a good post-season run. Bring on the SEC Tournament, it's time to party in Nashville.

I've been somewhat critical of Ashton for a few weeks, but that doesn't mean I'm not 100 percent behind him and rooting for his best basketball of the season. My parents ripped me a new one many times when I was younger....Didn't mean they didn't love me, just meant they cared and knew I could do better.

I’m not supporting anybody who doesn’t support their own team. Kid is a loser, quitter, spoiled brat, etc. We’ve watched it for 2 years now. He is what he is.

These posts are typical of most of our fans. The issue is, unfortunately, the negative ones are much louder and more memorable.

you new to this board....... we're always judged harshly by others for just disagreeing. Never the less for our worst day.
On this board you get judged for agreeing, disagreeing, being neutral, being male, being female, coming from Eastern Kentucky, coming from Western Kentucky, living in or near Louisville...never living in the state at all
People judge and some get really stupid about it

Best post I’ve read on this subject in the last month.

I can not count how many times posters here have accused me of being a UNC fan, or Duke fan, simply because I live in North Carolina. Now that could be because they are just really stupid, or just like to agitate anybody that disagrees with them. Either way, it says more about them as a person than it does me. Or, maybe they think you have to live inside Kentucky to be a fan, if so, that is really stupid.

I know
And I don’t always agree with your posts but I’ve never seen anything that makes me doubt you’re a Kentucky fan
Also i understand for many labeled “CLOD” they aren’t, really. We tend to vent emotion here and it can be over the top at times when we’re extremely frustrated.

I like Ashton Hagans. I hope the young guy gets his head right and ready to play, as the Wildcats prepare for a deep tournament run. Final Four and more!

Yes as we saw last night when we nearly got our doors blown off by florida only to win with some production from our freshmen after being down 18. Me and Ashton are coming to pick you up at your place to go help him pack his stuff and drive him to the airport to get on a plane home figured you’d like that.
I'm gonna pass on helping him pack. However, I wouldn't care to pick up the bill on the moving company.

I love Hagans and he has my full support. I think he and others have been putting too much pressure on himself all season, with talk like: “This team only goes as far as Ashton will take us.”

No one person should have that on their shoulders. I’m praying this last win allows us all to play more freely and without pressure, as a team.

Hagans will be fine. In many ways, this was a good thing for everyone. Hagans got to rest and reset. Maxey got some extended run at point, which will pay dividends later. The bench guys got some extra run and really proved they are ready to contribute when called upon. We, as a team, got to overcome a lot of adversity to pull out a big win. And it gave Cal a chance regain control and refocus of the team.
My sentiments exactly.

Nailed it. Not sure why fans are being ripped for being critical of Hagans. Everyone wants him to do well, we're all on the same page. But at what point is it in our right as fans to start questioning players, in a respectful manner?

Hagans has been bad for almost two months now. He's un-coach-able. He's fighting with teammates and staff. He walks away from the team (or is suspended, does anyone even know?), when they needed him most.. When is "enough is enough"? When can fans start getting annoyed? Keep in mind, no one is wishing he gets hurt or something.. and if anyone does, **** those people.

But this absolutism on this board is becoming nauseating. Under no circumstances can we call out players? If Hagans walks away in our Sweet16 game, we're just supposed to support him? Sorry, can't get on board with that.
